While an individual card’s popularity might skyrocket, other cards in that same set might get left behind in the dust. Some cards are naturally more desirable, which could happen for several reasons. But what about each set as a whole? This list will rank every set’s enchanted cards together, not individually.

Set Four: Ursula’s Revenge

The strange thing about Set Four having a higher value when focusing on prices, it places higher than some of the other sets, even though the art style isn’t the most beloved. After all, this provided the community with Jasmine, Desert Warrior. The card had the misfortune of resembling how many cartoons depict stinky air wafting around. An oversight, no doubt, but a bit damaging either way.

To build a Steel deck, or not to build a Steel deck? No, there’s no question, Steel is amazing.

The style really isolated the characters by setting them against these very dark backgrounds. Most of the characters find themselves surrounded by particles and magical effects that match the color of the card. Ariel, Sonic Warrior, has silver streams floating from her and her weapon, the same as Diablo, Devoted Hearld, only with Emerald energy. It does make them very visually striking. And characters aren’t competing with the color palettes of their backgrounds.

Set Two: Rise Of The Floodborn

With its style, Rise of the Floodborn trails behind the others. Which is odd, given the popularity of some of the cards. Hello, Beast, Relentless would like to have a chat with whoever isn’t valuing his card higher. But strictly focusing on the art and style of these cards, this set feels different from the others.

Disney Lorcana: 10 Most Valuable Amber Cards

I’m wishing, I’m wishing, for valuable cards. Here are the most valuable Amber cards in Lorcana.

Most cards have muted colors, especially in the background. Even Snow White, Well Wisher. Despite her dress having all the same pops of yellow and blue, the forest setting behind her is dull and dark, with what bit of light there is shining through hitting the Princess instead of anything else. And perhaps that’s why this set doesn’t have collectors biting at the bit.

Set Three: Into The Inklands

While this is a popular set because of the introduction of Location cards, it doesn’t pull the same kind of numbers in terms of dollars as other sets. Again, the culprit may boil down to the art style that was chosen for this set. Each of the enchanted cards in Into The Inklands is reminiscent of paint on canvas. You can see strokes that aren’t there.

Only the finest swords and shields are made of Steel, so here are the most valuable Steel cards in Disney’s Lorcana!

Could this alone be enough to sway collectors? Potentially. Other factors seemed as though they would have boosted popularity. This was the first time players were seeing cards for some of the movies that were loved by audiences but weren’t as successful, namely Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Treasure Planet. Shoot, it could have been that four of the enchanted cards were Locations. Either way, there are some gorgeous cards in the set, but while ranking it as a whole, this one falls a bit short.

Set One: The First Chapter

It is hard to beat the original. There may be several factors that contribute to this. One is Elsa. Her Spirit of Winter card has had a financial chokehold on the whole of the card game, keeping the top spot without faltering. Even when this card has dropped in value, it’s kept the prize of the most valuable Lorcana card. Being at over $800 pushes The First Chapter much higher when it comes to financial value.

Item cards are the core of almost any Disney Lorcana deck.

There’s also the fact that when The First Chapter launched, cards were scarce. Between scalpers buying up everything online and those who were causing the cards to sell out in person, it was kind of a mess. But that’s not to rob this set of the fact that these cards are very beautiful. Bright colors, those swirls of light and magic that play so well with the translucent nature of the printing.

2

Set Six: Azurite Sea

Azurite Sea really dialed up the style factor when it comes to standing out when compared to all the other sets. This time, it wasn’t about dark backgrounds, swirling light, or bright and bold color schemes. These cards were presented in sepia tones. The only color on the card beyond that was the banner that lists what kind of character or card this is and an outline surrounding each design.

Disney’s Lorcana has tons of valuable cards to collect from Azurite Seas, and these non-enchanted ones are going for top dollar.

Some even look like reference sheets, such as Yzma, Conniving Chemist. While, of course, her character image is the highlight of the card, behind her are sketches of other potions and brewing supplies. It gives the set the feeling of looking behind the scenes and seeing the process of deciding which design should make it to the big screen, just in the palm of your hand.

Set Five: Shimmering Skies

If previous sets rose or fell in popularity due to the backgrounds of the images being dark, that is not at all the case with the enchanted cards that make up the Shimmering Skies set. These cards are bright and filled with life and color. Beyond that, this was the first time that the information on the card was presented with a mostly transparent backdrop, allowing fans to better see the artwork even further down on the card.

This was also the first time the text was white, though that probably plays much less into why this set is so loved when compared to all the aforementioned qualities. While all the sets have been stylized, and their styles were meant to be varied, this one was so drastically different, and it’s not even close.
