In Wuthering Waves, elements have played an integral role since the game’s launch, providing buffs for characters or resistance to enemies. Unlike
other games like Genshin Impact
, elements have not yet been a focal point for reactions or deep synergies within teams. Instead, the elemental mechanics have served primarily to enhance the performance of characters and influence enemy resistances or immunities.

With the Version 2.0 update, there have been notable changes to the game’s elemental system, especially with the introduction of new Echo sets and some character reworks. One significant addition is the ability for characters to apply and benefit from Elemental Effects, which can now have more direct interactions, rather than just being passive buffs or resistances. Here’s all players need to know about Elemental Effects in Wuthering Waves.
All Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs in Wuthering Waves
Elemental Effects have been present in Wuthering Waves since the game’s launch, though they were exclusively applied by certain enemies. Players might recall encountering these effects, particularly with
elements like Glacio
, where enemies such as Lampylumen Myriad could freeze the active character. However, it’s important to note that all six elements in the game come with their own unique effects that players need to consider. Most of the elements have a DoT like effect.

While there is a slight indication that Wuthering Waves may gradually shift toward utilizing Elemental Effects more actively with Resonators and enabling players to take advantage of them, as of the Version 2.0 update, this mechanic remains somewhat niche. It is limited to only a few Resonators, Echoes, or Echo sets that have been specifically designed to interact with these effects as follows:
Resonators That Can Apply Elemental Effects
- Spectro Rover: Currently, Spectro Rover stands as the only character capable of benefiting from the ability to apply Elemental Effects, following a rework introduced after the Version 2.0 update. Once players complete the Version 2.0 storyline, they will gain access to this newly optimized Spectro Rover. No other character, not even those in Havoc Rover, is able to apply Elemental Effects in a similar manner. Spectro Rover’s unique Spectro Frazzle mechanic is triggered through the Resonance Skill’s Resonating Spin variant, which applies 2 stacks of Spectro Frazzle to enemies. In addition to this, the skill also applies the Shimmer effect, which prevents Spectro Frazzle stacks from decreasing over time. This allows Spectro Rover to continually build up the Spectro Frazzle effect, ensuring its stacks remain consistent. This unique mechanic is particularly advantageous for maintaining buffs granted by specific Echoes and Echo sets that rely on Spectro Frazzle.
Echoes and Echo Sets Related to Elemental Effects
Currently, there is only one echo set, with its respective new echo that benefits from Elemental Effects, specifically useful for Spectro Rover as of now. Unfortunately, no other character currently benefits from below Echo or Echo Set.
- Echo Set – Eternal Radiance: 2pc: Spectro DMG +10%. 5pc: Inflicting enemies with Spectro Frazzle increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s. Attacking enemies with 10 stacks of Spectro Frazzle grants 15% Spectro DMG Bonus for 15s.
- Echo – Nightmare: Mourning Aix Mourning Aix to attack surrounding enemies, dealing 273.60% Spectro DMG. DMG dealt to enemies inflicted by Spectro Frazzle is increased by 100.00%. The Resonator with this Echo equipped in their main slot gains 12.00% Spectro DMG Bonus.
