The holidays in Fortnite are always fun, but they often stay a bit longer than you’d like. It feels especially that way in Chapter 6, but the Fortnite Winterfest end date is coming soon! We know now exactly when the event will end and with it, the nice Chapter 6 map actually coming back from beneath that bland blanket of snow. How long do we have left to wait?
Usually, Fortnite events don’t stay long enough for us to get sick of them. However, with Winterfest stretching over a period when players get more free time to play, it’s always a bit different. This year it’s been especially poorly timed, starting up much closer to the end of the year, and sticking around for a full week of the new year.
Since Chapter 6 and 5 both launched in December, we didn’t get too long with their normal maps before the snow hit. When do we get the proper Chapter 6 map back?

When Does Fortnite Winterfest End?
The Fortnite Winterfest event is going to end on January 7th! Early in the morning, the map will be reset and everything back to normal. It’s a change that’s actually coming before our next Fortnite update. However, with Epic returning to work from their Christmas break, the game is safe to start making changes again soon.
When Winterfest ends, we’ll see the items for the event vaulted. Although, this year’s offerings of chilly feet haven’t exactly been OP, so they likely won’t be missed too much.
The biggest change is the map getting set back. While it’s always fun to see the snow, turning most of the center of the map into a blanket white color has gotten a bit dull. It’s especially frustrating for those who are getting sick of the one-color blend in sweat skins that love the snow.

The other major thing to keep in mind before Fortnite Winterfest ends, is the quests. The investigation quests have been a bit badly handled, with everyone deciding on a single spot every game to have a go. However, weather the room is being camped or not, you only have a few hours left to get these done if you want to get max XP this season.
