With the new year of 2025 kicking on, we will be talking about the new hero introductions in the Advanced Server along with the latest event updates in January 2025. New hero introductions for Kalea and Wu Zetian have been introduced, which will make their way into the Original Server in the new year. Other than that, there are new skins featuring the HunterXHunter collaboration along with new Collector skins and more. Apart from that, there will be regular balance changes for the heroes along with their equipment.
Mobile Legends Patch 1.9.48 Update: New Heroes
Kalea
The new Support/Fighter role hero with unique skillsets and awesome visuals, Kalea‘s design is inspired by aquatic elements and a skillset focused on sustain, crowd control (CC), and mobility, Kalea offers versatility that allows her to adapt to multiple roles in a match.
Kalea is expected to be released in March 2025 on the Original server. Alongside that, there is also a new hero Wu Zetian, who has been revealed in the Chinese server.
Mobile Legends Patch 1.9.48 Update: Hero Adjustments
Selena (Buffed)
Devs have aimed to strengthen Selena as both a Jungler and a Mid-Laner by increasing her passive mark damage against creeps and minions, while also improving the control experience of her Skills 1 and 2 in Elven and Abyssal forms.
Passive (↑)
Other Effect: Mark Damage against creeps: 200% >> Mark Damage against creeps and minions: 250%
Skill 2 (Elven Form) (↑)
- Stun Duration: 0.5-3s >> 0.5-2s
- Movement Speed Bonus: 40% >> 80%
- Required Stun Duration for Movement Speed Bonus: 1s >> 0.8s
Leomord (Buffed)
Leomord struggles against targets with over 50% HP, so devs have increased his Human Form Skill 1 damage against such targets. This will help him whittle down high-HP enemies faster and leverage his Passive to secure kills with Crit Basic Attacks.
Barbiel’s movement speed is increased in Ultimate to help Leomord enter Mounted State faster.
Skill 1 – Human Form (↑)
- Base Damage: 500-800 (+ 180% of Total Physical Attack) >> 450-850 (+ 130% of Total Physical Attack) + 8%-10.5% of target’s current HP
- Added Max Damage Against Lord and Turtle: 1500-2500
Ultimate (↑)
Barbiel Movement Speed: 6 >> 9
Rafaela (Buffed)
Experimental Adjustments: Following Argus’s update, his twin sister also gains new powers! Rafaela will receive a new Passive that better reflects her identity as an “Angel”. Devs have also optimized her skill effects and control experience.
Passive (↑)
New Passive: Rafaela gains a special skill that can resurrect fallen allies. At regular intervals, after 2.5s of channelling, Rafaela can instantly resurrect an allied hero.
Skill 1 (~)
Cooldown: 4s >> 5-3s
Skill 2 (↑)
- Cooldown: 10.5-8.5s >> 17s
- Removed Effect: Restores extra HP to self and the most injured nearby allied hero.
- New Effect: Excess healing is converted into a shield that lasts 5s.
- Basic Healing: 100-125 + 35% of Total Magic Power >> 350-700 + 130% of Total Magic Power
Revamped Hanzo (Nerfed)
Revamped Hanzo remains too strong, so the devs are reducing his mid-game strength.
Skill 1 (Hanekage) (↓)
Percentage Damage Based on Target’s HP: 15%-20% >> 15% at all levels
Ultimate (↓)
- Gained Attack Speed: 30%-50% >> 30% at all levels
- Cooldown: 21s-15s >> 32s-18s
Mobile Legends Patch 1.9.48 Update: January Original Server Updates
With the new month of January, we will list down the new updates for events, new skins and more, as a part of Patch 1.9.48 Update in Mobile Legends.
Double Diamonds Event
Starting from January 1, the first purchase of Diamonds from specific tiers (50, 150, 250, and 500 Diamonds) in the Recharge menu will grant double Diamonds.
- Super Value Pass: Starting from January 1 till the 14th of January, 2025, the Super Value Pass event begins! Log in for 7 days after unlocking the Pass to get 135-180 Diamonds and 110 Crystal of Aurora, with a chance to obtain a Blazing Bounties Skin!
- Diamond Vault: The Diamonds Vault will be available for a limited time from the 14th of January till the 23rd of January, 2025. Participate in the draw for a chance to win the limited skin Ruby “Lady Zombie”, Avatar Borders, and other rewards!
New skins
- StarLight Skin: This will be Zhuxin’s first Starlight skin, while also being the first skin to release in the year 2025.
- Lucky Box: Revamped Gatotkaca “Sentinel” will be available from the 1st of January till the 14th of January, 2025.
- Aurora “Veil of the Celestials” is joining the Grand Collection event as the new Collector skin for January 2025.
- MLBB & HUNTER X HUNTER Event: Dyrroth “Gon”, Hanth “Killua”, Julian “Kurapika”, and Cecilion “Hisoka” will be the new skins for this anime collaboration.
- Lunar Fest Skins: Zilong “Dragon of Prosperity”, Chang’e “New Moon”, Sun “Spring Blessings”, Odette “Auspicious Charm”, Lolita “Lion Dance”, Aurora “Foxy Lady”, and Luo Yi “Dawning Fortune” will be the new Lunar Fest skins which can be up for grab from 11th of January, 2025.
- Revamped Hanzo will release on the 18th of January with the new skins “The Pale Phantom”, “Undead King”, and “Insidious Tutor”.
- Johnson “Sovereign of Realms” skin is joining the Magic Wheel Event Shop.
- Rafaela “Bloom of Abundance” skin will be available for presale from the 18th of January, 2025.
- Aurora “Aquarius” skin will return as a part of the Zodiac skins for a limited time on the 20th of January, 2025.
