Summary
- Magic: The Gathering might be getting a Universes Beyond set based on Avatar: The Last Airbender.
- Fans are guessing this based on deals on MTG Arena, which centre around the four elements.
- If this theory is accurate, then it might be the unannounced Universes Beyond set that’s coming later this year.
The Magic: The Gathering community has good reason to believe that a new Universes Beyond set has been subtly confirmed. As spotted by a fan, today’s MTG Arena deals all seem to centre on a certain theme: elements.
Coupling this with the fact that two of the cards mention “bending”, many are interpreting this as meaning that one of the upcoming Universes Beyond sets will be a collaboration with Avatar: The Last Airbender. Either that, or this is all a wild coincidence.
Magic: The Gathering’s Next Crossover May Have Been Confirmed
It’s good news for fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender
This was spotted by Reddit user Lunarian_13 over in r/magicTCG, who pointed out that today’s Arena deals all seem to reference Avatar: The Last Airbender. As you can see, the four elements are represented, and bending is mentioned on two of the cards.
If true, this wouldn’t be the first time that Arena deals have been used to tease an announcement. Similar deals were available in the run time to the reveal that Final Fantasy and Spider-Man are getting Universes Beyond sets.
Fans in the replies seem convinced that Avatar is coming next, highlighting that this could coincide with the twentieth anniversary of the series. However, that does take place next month, so it’s possible that only the announcement will be part of the anniversary, not the actual release of the set.

If we are getting an Avatar set, then we’ll have to wait and see when it will launch. There’s still room in 2025 for one more Universes Beyond run, as we’ve already been told that there’s another that hasn’t been unveiled. That’s set to be with us at some point this year, alongside the Final Fantasy and Spider-Man collaborations.
There will also be several Universes Beyond sets in 2026, none of which have been announced just yet. In fact, just the other day, head MTG designer Mark Rosewater confirmed that all of the in-Multiverse sets have already been revealed, so there will only be two of them. This leaves a lot of room for more to come in 2026, and it remains to be seen what collaborations this will bring.
