We’ve known when Marvel Rivals season zero will end since players have been counting down to it since launch. However, we’ve not known when exactly season zero will end and season one will begin until now. NetEase has debuted its trailer for season one, confirming that it will be called Eternal Night Falls and it will begin at 4 am EST on Friday, January 10, 2025.
The biggest takeaway from the trailer itself is it provides our best look yet at the Fantastic Four. The Rivals team confirmed last week that all four members of the superhero team will be joining the Rivals roster in season one after key art of the quartet leaked a few hours earlier. However, even though it isn’t technically gameplay, the trailer provides a first look at how the superheroes appear when in motion.

Turns out comic book accuracy is the way to go if you want your game about comic book heroes to be successful.
The Thing is the first of the four to be shown during the trailer as he’s shown moving a bus out of the way at around the halfway point. That scene then cuts to Mr. Fantastic, stretching left and right over a control panel, clearly trying to prevent some sort of disaster. A better look at what, or who, is causing that disaster is then shown as the Invisible Woman debuts, forming a shield around the Fantastic Four’s HQ. Last but not least is The Human Torch who etches the group’s logo in flames in the sky towards the end of the trailer.

The Fantastic Four Are Coming, And So Is Dracula
There’s a villainous voice narrating the events of the Eternal Night Falls trailer, and it’s revealed at the end to be Dracula. How exactly the iconic vampire will mess with the Fantastic Four, and presumably Rivals as a whole, isn’t revealed. It’s somewhat interesting that NetEase is either adding Dracula to the villains that have reigned over the game so far, though. Until now it has been two versions of Dr. Doom causing havoc as they’re the whole reason why the timestreams are entangled and heroes from across the multiverse are being forced to battle each other.
Other than confirmation that the Fantastic Four will be introduced as playable characters and the overarching theme of season one, we don’t have many firm details about what it will include. A rundown of the week ahead for Rivals from a reliable leaker has claimed Hela and Hawkeye will be nerfed to kick off the season, and that some characters will be getting buffs. The same leaker has claimed two of the Fantastic Four will be added at the start of the season with the other two joining midway through.
