Marvel Rivals has many heroes to choose from, and Psylocke is a very common pick for how effective and versatile she is in combat. She will cause a great deal of unease for your team if you don’t know how to counter her quickly and avoid some of her attacks.

How To Counter Psylocke
You will encounter Psylocke frequently in matches and, after a player has gotten used to the ropes of playing as her, you will be in for a tough battle. When used productively, she will most often try to loop around to the backline of your team while invisible, which lets her try and get substantial damage off.
Since she is a short to mid-range duelist, your best bet is to use longer-range heroes like Hawkeye or those with high mobility to avoid some of her quick advances while flanking. A well-trained long-range player can deal with Psylocke in any situation.
High mobility is also extremely useful in avoiding her devastating Dance of the Butterfly ultimate, which, if you are in its area of effect for long, there is very little chance of survival.
When Psylocke turns invisible, you will want to remember the general direction of where she was heading last and/or facing if you can. Pinging her when she has made it to the backline is extremely important to help out your team.
Mantis’s ultimate as a Strategist can be a brilliant counter to Psylocke’s own. Not only that, you can put her to sleep when she is coming within close range of the team. Any Vanguards can also then rush towards her with higher health and dish out some high-damage melee attacks.
How To Counter Psylocke As A Duelist
Precision is the name of this counter and Hawkeye is the most effective hero that we recommend for dealing with Psylocke as a Duelist. You will need a lot of training, but charging up the bow and hitting Psylocke with a well-shot arrow will have her extremely low on health and, of course, dead if you manage a headshot.
Not only is Hawkeye effective at range for Psylocke, but with his Crescent Slash ability, he has a great melee attack which can slash at her if she is rushing in close to you. After you slash, you can fire a few uncharged or half-charged arrows at her too for damage.
It is vital to remember that Hawkeye can deflect certain projectiles (including Psylocke’s) by using normal melee attacks, so this aids the counter greatly.
Where Hawkeye falls short is in escaping her Dance of the Butterfly ultimate, where your best chance as Hawkeye is to use the Skyward Leap ability and jump away successfully.
However, it is in situations like these where using more mobile duelists, like Star-Lord or Iron Man can be advantageous. Star-Lord in particular is brilliant for short and mid-range face-offs with Psylocke.
The strategy for Star-Lord’s Psylocke counter is to dive in and get shots off before using the Blaster Barrage ability, which will have him spinning around dealing high damage to Psylocke and other enemies. When Psylocke uses her ultimate, fly away from the zone with the Rocket Propulsion ability.
How To Counter Psylocke As A Strategist
Mantis is the go-to pick as a Strategist for Psylocke’s counter. You should focus on using your Spore Slumber ability to put Psylocke to sleep when you spot her with your team.
Luna Snow can also be useful for stopping her completely with her Absolute Zero ability, but what makes Mantis shine in this hero counter over Luna is that the damage buff switch of Luna’s ultimate isn’t needed for the counter and the freeze time is slightly less than what the sleep time of Mantis’s ability is.
When Psylocke uses her ultimate, you should immediately use yours if there are a lot of teammates in the Dance of the Butterfly zone and then stay with everyone. This will stop Psylocke from killing any of your affected team with the ultimate.
Apart from these two core strategies, generally firing at Psylocke with your attacks as Mantis will have her under more pressure, and you can easily take her down with some well-hit thorns.
How To Counter Psylocke As A Vanguard
Vanguards have higher health, making them perfect for rushing in to perform damaging melee attacks on Psylocke before she dashes away or turns invisible.
Thor is a highly effective hero counter-choice because not only can he do this strategy, but with his Awakening Rune ability, you can damage Psylocke from further away with lightning arc waves, making him much more versatile in battle.
You can chase Psylocke down if she tries to dash away by using your Storm Surge ability, charge up the hammer, and then let go to dash towards her before getting some final hits off. Charging the hammer and then aiming diagonally up in the air can also be excellent for escaping her ultimate when she activates it.
Hulk is another hero who can be used as a successful brute against Psylocke and can close any gap quickly, similar to what Thor can do with his Storm Surge ability.
You should also use the Lightning Realm ability close to Psylocke when she is in a battle with the team. This will slow her down and also give her some slight initial damage. All in all, helping your team out massively. Psylocke will be eliminated very quickly with these Thor strategies.
