Palworld features many cool and cute Pals. You can fill your team with Pals you love the look of or those with great power. Of course, not all Pals are equal in strength, and some are definitely better than others. You’ll want to keep the Pals with the best work suitability at your base.
Additionally, some Pals provide various advantages thanks to their partner skills. Some help you travel by swimming, others allow you to fly, and some assist with fast movement on land. In this guide, we’ll explain how to find one of the small, cool, and useful Pals, Smokie.
Where To Find Smokie
Smokie is a small, adorable Dark-type Pal with black flames on its body, and it can only be found on Feybreak Island. Feybreak Island is a very dangerous place located in the southwest part of your map. This island is home to Pals above level 50 and other dangers.
Among these dangers are anti-aircraft misilles that make it difficult to fly over the island. For this reason, it’s advisable to reach Feybreak Island on a swimming Pal.
Feybreak Island consists of four different biomes, and Smokie can be found in the reddish, enclosed land on the northern part of the island. It doesn’t have a specific location, but if you roam around the northern region, you should eventually come across them. For instance, you can find them in groups by heading south from the Shield Dragon Tunnel fast travel point.
Smokies are not aggressive and will flee upon seeing you. Therefore, approach them cautiously and slowly. Since they are of the Dark type, it’s beneficial to bring along Dragon-type Pals.
To catch Smokies easily, you should at least use a Legendary Sphere, though Ultimate and Exotic Spheres are better choices. Additionally, using Sphere Modules will further increase your capture chances.
Item Drops
When you capture or defeat a Smokie, you will obtain 
Bone
and 
Crude Oil
. Bone can be obtained from most Pals, so relying on Smokies for this item isn’t ideal. However, Crude Oil is a rare resource, and capturing or slaughtering Smokies with a 
Meat Cleaver
is a good way to obtain it.
How To Breed Smokie
If you prefer hatching a Smokie from an egg rather than capturing it, this can be done through certain Pal combinations. The table below lists the required Pals for breeding Smokie:
Partner Skill & Work Suitability
Smokie’s partner skill is ‘Dig, Dog! Dig!’, which is quite useful for finding Chromite. Chromite is not visible to the naked eye and can be found in some caves and dungeons on Feybreak Island. Another alternative method for finding Chromite is having a Metal Detector. With the ‘Dig, Dog! Dig!’ partner skill, you can find Chromite without a Metal Detector.
Additionally, if you have a Metal Detector and Smokie by your side, you will find more Chromite.
Smokie’s Work Suitability is Gathering, which is at level two. While there are other Pals with higher Gathering skills found in various locations, Smokie’s single work suitability makes it less effective as a Pal for your base.
Where To Find Alpha Boss Smokie
If you’re looking for a powerful Smokie, focus on finding Alpha Boss Smokie. It can be found southeast of the Loess Plains fast travel point at level 55. Its coordinates are –879, -1467. When you reach these coordinates, you’ll need to go to the teleporter that leads to the dungeon, Sealed Realm of the Little Hero.
However, before heading there, you’ll need Bounty Tokens from other Alpha Pals. The table below shows the Alpha Pals and their coordinates:

Just like with other Smokies, make sure you bring Dragon-type Pals when fighting the Alpha Boss Smokie.
