One brave gamer shared that Super Mario Galaxy was “overrated.” Not just regular amounts of overrated, either, but “the most overrated game in the franchise.”
Galaxy is often considered one of the best Mario games, and, in celebration of the franchise’s 35th anniversary, it was included in a compilation alongside Mario 64 and Sunshine, signifying its place. “Good game, but not to the point of being worshiped the way it is in this sub,” they added.
Elsewhere, a fan declared that “Paper Mario Sticker Star was NOT a bad game.” The first Paper Mario to be released on a handheld, it was not critically acclaimed, earning a 75 on Metacritic.
“NSMBU is the second-best game in the whole franchise,” another user shared. Indeed, the game was a massive hit at launch, even including a Luigi-centric DLC.
Meanwhile, one user revealed that they believe Super Mario 3D Land, the 3DS game, is better than World, the Wii U title. Like we said, at the top these are some hot takes. Ultimately, as their name implies, they are simply “takes,” or opinions. And you can take them or leave them, but some are valid and are worth consideration.
