Pokemon TCG Pocket Player Recreates Immersive Mew In Gen 1 Style

Summary

  • A Pokemon TCG Pocket player reimagined Mew’s Immersive card.
  • This Mew card requires collecting all 150 Kanto Pokemon.
  • The Mythical Island mini-set release shook up the meta.

A talented Pokemon TCG Pocket player has recreated the artwork for Mew’s immersive card in Gen 1 style and shared the result with the community. Of over 200 Pokemon TCG Pocket cards of varying rarities for players to collect, the Mew immersive card is considered especially difficult to acquire.

Pokemon TCG Pocket immersive cards need a lot of luck to acquire since they tend to have a considerably low drop rate. The Mew card is no exception, as Pokemon TCG Pocket players need to grab all 150 Kanto region Pokemon. Fulfilling this requirement takes time and patience, and although the Mew immersive card is not the most powerful–it only deals 20 damage–its artwork is one of the most adorable.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Player Shares Shiny Card Concept

Shiny Pokemon cards don’t yet exist in Pokemon TCG Pocket, but one creative fan shares a concept of what they could look like.

Redditor bebelhl turned the immersive Mew card into a poster, achieving an impressive result. Their artwork depicts the card’s animation as a complete landscape, drawn with the aesthetic that made the first Pokemon generation one of the most beloved by fans. The Mythical Pokemon from Kanto appears flying over a river, encountering other critters such as two Fearow flying, a Snorlax sleeping while a Ditto is in its belly, and a Digglet in a cave.

The Mew Cards Available in Pokemon TCG Pocket

While the immersive card requires a specific step-by-step to unlock, other Mew cards are available following the release of Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s Mythical Island mini-set. One Mew card sports a silver border, while the ex-cards boast stunning illustrations. Mew ex-cards feature art with a golden background and are considered some of the rarest in the game. Pokemon TCG Pocket players can also pull the standard Mew ex and a special variant with a colored border using some of the game’s most detailed artwork.

Beyond introducing new Mew cards, the arrival of the Mythical Island mini-set introduced players to cards that have shaken up the meta. Among them is the powerful Serperior and Celebi ex combo that became quite popular in the first few days after launch, but ran into unexpected counters with Jynx. Pokemon TCG Pocket has also been adding new promotional cards from events. The latest wave is available in the new Solo Battle event, which features a full Blastoise art card as the main reward.
