Summary
- A YouTuber called Chickensandwich420 is attempting to no hit Messmer the Impaler from Shadow of the Erdtree every day until Elden Ring: Nightreign’s launch.
- Starting on December 16, they’re already 20 days deep into their challenge, having taken down NG+7 Messmer without getting hit once.
- If we get to June without a release, they’re going to move on to other FromSoftware bosses, as a nod to the game’s inclusion of Dark Souls bosses.
Elden Ring Nightreign was announced at The Game Awards last year, and to everyone’s surprise, it had a launch window of 2025 attached. That’s likely because it uses a lot of the same assets and world that Elden Ring does, but it will still take plenty of time to develop. FromSoftware fans will likely be trying to find different ways to pass the time until Elden Ring: Nightreign hits store shelves, such as replays of older games or desperately trying to find a third friend to play with since it doesn’t support duos.
One YouTuber called Chickensandwich420 has taken a rather unique approach to the wait, and has decided to do something that the vast majority of the fanbase could only dream of. In true Let Me Solo Her fashion, this YouTuber has committed to beating Messmer the Impaler from Shadow of the Erdtree every day until Elden Ring: Nightreign’s launch, all without taking damage.
Elden Ring: Nightreign Fan Is No Hitting Messmer Every Day Until Launch
Making Let Me Solo Her Proud
Chickensandwich420 started their journey on December 16 last year, just four days after Elden Ring: Nightreign was actually announced. In their first video’s description, they explain that they’re doing this challenge on NG+7, and that they’re planning to go all the way up to June this year. If the game still isn’t released by then, they say that they’re going to “branch out” into other FromSoftware bosses, as a nod to Nightreign’s inclusion of Dark Souls bosses.

We’ll have to wait and see what exactly Elden Ring Nightreign is, but it’s certainly not a straight-up sequel!
They’ve been routinely beating Messmer every day since then, and they’re now up to day 20 at the time of writing. Each attempt has seen them using completely different weapons, making Messmer look like an absolute joke in the process, and making me feel completely inadequate after dying almost two dozen times in the same fight.
We’ll have to see whether Chickensandwich420 has the resilience to do this every day until June. After taking into account the days they’d already beat Messmer, it would mean they’d need to beat him 142 more times, and even then, there’s no guarantee that Elden Ring: Nightreign would launch by then.
However, we did see that Chickensandwich420 attempted something similar last year, no hitting Maliketh every day until Shadow of the Erdtree launched, so they have the experience to do this. Good luck soldier, you’ll need it.
