The Magical Magus has a few skills that can deal a lot of damage to those who are unprepared. They focus mostly on fire damage so your best bet is to grab fire-resistance accessories found in golden chests throughout Yukiko’s Castle. These accessories can also be helpful for the boss fight at the end, so they are worthwhile items to grab.

Whenever you see the Magical Magus gathering magic power, guard that next turn as it will often use Agilao, a tier two magic spell that will do boosted damage, and can easily knock out an unprepared party member. Hysterical Slap can also do a lot of physical damage as it hits twice, but not as hard as Agilao which is its real threat. The protagonist is the only character able to get light skills this early in the game, and it’s best if Chie and Yosuke sit this fight out and focus on guarding so they don’t go down.

Early-Game Persona With A Light Skill In Persona 4 Golden

The best early-game Persona that has a light skill is Archangel, which comes with Hama naturally Archangel also learns Media at level 12, which will be a very useful skill to bring to the boss fight on the final floor. It is a level 11 Persona, and can easily be fused with:

  • Slime (Level 2)
  • Forneus (Level 6)

In Persona 4 Golden, light, and dark skills are only the insta-kill variants, meaning Hama will be an insta-kill attack hitting the enemy’s weakness. Because of this, it will almost always hit, and when it does the enemy will die instantly, making one of the strongest enemies in this dungeon one of the easiest to take down. Due to its high level, these can be a great enemy to farm as long as you have items to restore your SP or if you’re okay with going into the boss fight with less than usual.
