Helldivers 2 is a game all about cooperating with your fellow soldiers and taking down the evil Illuminate/Terminid/Automaton menace, or anything else that poses a threat to Super Earth. With your trusty squad, you’ll drop onto a planet, face overwhelming waves of enemies, usually get turned into paste by an enemy, ill-timed Eagle strike, or friendly-firing space station and then get out of there with your rewards. There is no tolerance for desertion.
Those who attempt to flee the area in which you land, essentially abandoning your mission and betraying Super Earth, are very quickly dealt with. Explosives rain down from on high to remind you that you’re a traitor for attempting to flee and abandon your brothers, but have you ever wondered what would actually happen if you were allowed to run off with your tail between your legs? Thankfully, a traitor known as GallopingGepard has the answers.
Helldivers 2 Fan Somehow Drives All The Way Out Of Bounds
Now that Helldivers have access to a fairly swift vehicle in the FRV, they’ve been able to make more strides into forbidden areas without being bombarded to within an inch of their life. A Reddit user called GallopingGepard recently tested to see just how far you can get before you’re taken down, and what they discovered could potentially shape the Helldivers 2 universe as we know it.

In their video (which you can watch embedded above), we see them rather expertly weave between explosives, as Super Earth attempts to destroy their traitorous butt before they can get too far. Unfortunately, GallopingGepard is immediately stopped in their tracks by a large ditch, almost as if the whole arena you’re fighting in is slightly risen like a football field. They drive off the end of the ditch to have their FRV collide with thin air, and then plummet to the ground below.
Somehow, this traitorous soldier then teleports back to the top of the ditch, and begins swimming in midair, before one of Super Earth’s explosives removes the head from their shoulders. It’s an interesting little insight as to exactly how Helldivers 2 has been developed, and quite surprising to see just how small the sandboxes are that we’re running around. I wouldn’t try this yourself though, in case you’re also branded as a traitor and swiftly dealt with. We wouldn’t want that now, would we soldier?
