What are the Rarest Fortnite Skins?

If there’s one thing that gets players excited about skins in Fortnite, it’s rarity. Not the old in-game color grading that Epic recently did away with. But actual rarity, how many players have it in their lockers. Getting a skin that nobody else has really excited players, and a lot of fans like to track just how rare their skins are. The rarest skins in Fortnite are on another level though.

The total number of Fortnite skins is huge. However, there are some which are much more interesting for collectors of the rarest items. Skins which are now unobtainable, that no one can get access to ever again. These skins exist in a few player’s lockers and nowhere else. There are tons which are competitors for the title of rarest skin, but they are our absolute top picks. What are the rarest skins in Fortnite? These are the top 5 in 2025.

Top 5 Rarest Fortnite Skins in 2025

5. Travis Scott

This one might not be in the top 5 just in terms of how many lockers own it, but Travis Scott is only getting rarer. At one point this was one of the most popular Fortnite skins, but it’s barely been back.

The skin was released for a Fortnite live event. However, Travis Scott has barely been back to the item shop since. The artist for some reason won’t agree to license the skin again. Epic Games has even confirmed that he can’t come back without renewed permission, which doesn’t seem to be coming.

Travis Scott is only getting rarer and rarer despite once being heavily promoted all over the game. Even as recent as the Fortnite Remix live event, we should have seen Travis in-game. However, unlike every other artist featured his section was done by a stand-in skin. If permission can’t be gotten for a giant event, it’s looking very unlikely this ever returns.

4. Galaxy

Galaxy is one of the rarest Fortnite skins that had the highest initial price tag. This skin was only accessible to players who bought a phone too. It became famous for being an expensive skin and is in very few lockers these days. Even for future Samsung promotions, they’ve used a newer skin with a similar theme. So Galaxy really is in the Vault forever unless you got him before 2019.

3. Rogue Agent

Rogue Agent is an early Fortnite Starter Pack skin who has become one of the rarest in the entire world of Fortnite. This skin was released in Chapter 1, Season 3. A first test for Epic’s start packs system. Unlike future packs this one was purchasable for V-Bucks, not money. However, as with most starters it hasn’t been back since. It’s become one of the rarest Fortnite skins in the years since.

2. Reflex

Reflex is definitely one of the rarest Fortnite skins. This character first arrived in one of the most expensive bundles for a Fortnite skin we’ve ever seen. It was released as a code that came with an Nvidia Graphics Card. A big commitment if someone is making the purchase just to unlock the Fortnite skin. However, if you did pick up the code then it was a fantastic bonus.

Reflex wasn’t exclusive to this card though. It was supposed to be, but it actually showed up in the item shop again since. Not very often, but it’s slight reappearance does mean it’s not quite the rarest Fortnite skin, even if it is high up there.

1. Black Knight

With the recent changes to the rarest Fortnite skins, we have a new skin we can put in that rarest of all slots. Black Knight.

This skin was part of a very early Battle Pass in Fortnite, but not Season 1. Why is the Black Knight skin rarer than those that came when the game had even fewer players? Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper were held up as rarer for quite a while, but they’ve recently returned to the item shop with OG becoming a permanent mode.

This means they’re no longer on the same level. Since just about anything from the Item Shop can come back at any point… for the rarest Fortnite skin we have to look a bit further. To those who can’t come back. That starts with the first real Battle Pass, where we got the Black Knight.

As a tier 100 skin, this one was quite a bit harder to unlock in the first place. Alongside being released at a time when fewer people were grinding through level 100. It’s also a lot more interesting than those old Season 1 rarest skins. It can’t come back either, so players either have this one or they don’t. It could be one of the skins that adds the most value if you’re looking at how much your Fortnite account is worth. It’s definitely one of the most fondly remembered from the early Battle Passes.
