Spider-Man 4’s Latest Problems Paint A Worrying MCU Picture

The latest Spider-Man 4 problems have shown a potentially wider issue regarding the MCU.

Holland told Men’s Health, “When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore. Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth.” The timescale for when that happens is unclear, but it’s obviously something that Holland has thought about as a potential long-term decision to make a move away from the world of acting. He is currently in a relationship with his fellow Spider-Man co-star, Zendaya, who he’s had the chance to act alongside in the MCU several times.

Holland has no plans to slow down acting just yet because he has recently been cast in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming movie, The Odyssey. Meanwhile, there is development taking place on Spider-Man 4, as his role in the MCU is set to continue developing and growing. However, the actor clearly has a long-term plan that doesn’t involve being an actor anymore. He hopes to focus on being a father and be as hands-on as possible during that period of his life.

Holland has started building a life away from the acting world as he recently launched his own non-alcoholic beer company, BERO. That’s something that he’s advocated for and is promoting heavily at the moment after his decision to go teetotal. Whether that’s part of his long-term plan to stop acting remains to be seen, but having potential ways of earning money without being on the big screen certainly won’t hurt his attempt to walk away from acting. Meanwhile he’s a passionate golfer and someone who regularly gets modeling opportunities.

Whether Holland sticks to this idea of retiring from acting when he becomes a father remains to be seen, as he could end up changing his mind. However, it seems clear that the Spider-Man star will be slowing down acting at the very least in a bid to prioritize being a father, which is a noble decision to make. However, his popularity in the acting world and the fact that he’s proven himself to be talented in that world would mean that him retiring would be a disappointing decision in the eyes of the fanbase that he’s created over the years.
