Stardew Valley Player Makes Millions Without Leaving Farm Once

Summary

  • A Stardew Valley fan has managed to amass millions of gold over six years without stepping foot outside their farm.
  • Reddit user _Littlestranger made almost 4 million gold, using the Four Corners farm to very slowly increase their mining and farming skills.
  • After grabbing the Seed Maker recipe, they quit after the sixth year, having achieved their self-imposed target of ten million gold and three giant crops.

Stardew Valley has been going for so long that, just like many other long-running games out there, fans have started undertaking their own self-imposed challenges to make things trickier. You could go for 100% completion or get every achievement, something which even creator ConcernedApe has only recently accomplished, or you can start mass-producing on your farm, excelling at one very specific item, but making tonnes of it.

One popular run that players like to undertake is the Hermit challenge, which tests your survival skills by never letting you step foot outside your farm. You can’t visit the mines, you can’t buy seeds from Pierre, and you can’t go fishing. All you have is whatever the land provides, and while it’s certainly a challenge, it’s not exactly the most fun way to play.

That hasn’t stopped Reddit user _Littlestranger from living the hermit lifestyle though, as they recently shared their earnings as a hermit farmer, having managed to amass almost 4 million gold. They shared various screenshots of their farm and stats to the Stardew Valley subreddit earlier this week, revealing they’ve lived on their farm for just under six whole years in Stardew Valley time.

In the replies to this Reddit post, they explain a little bit about how they amassed their fortune and how they’ve managed to live as a hermit for so long. For starters, they explained that they picked the Four Corners farm, which rather handily has a small quarry and a forest area with special weeds that always drop Mixed Seeds, which is how they managed to increase their farming and mining skills enough to then get the Seed Maker recipe.

I Actually Enjoyed Playing Stardew Valley As A Joja Supporter

Let’s be real. Joja isn’t all that bad. Right?

That took them a whopping three years of in-game time, which they admit was “really boring”, but things then picked up once the Seed Maker was acquired. They also reveal that they have hearts with absolutely nobody, and the only people in their Friendship Tab are Robin, Lewis, Clint, Marnie, Pierre, and Kent, all because they stopped by their house, most likely to make sure the strange farming hermit hasn’t died.

Other little tidbits they explain are that they managed to obtain hardwood from regular trees thanks to the lumberjack profession, and they couldn’t actually remove stumps from their farm as they couldn’t upgrade their shovel, so they just left them. The reason why they have a very small amount of gold from fish is also because their cat brought them some stuff.

Thankfully, _Littlestranger’s life as a hermit is now over, as they eventually ended up reaching their gold and giant crop target by the end of the sixth year. With all that effort behind them, a say they deserve a nice little fishing trip as a reward, and recommend talking to someone. Literally anyone, even Pierre.
