Promising Hades inspired roguelike Realm of Ink suddenly vanishes from Steam

If you’ve been itching for more roguelikes while taking a break between Hades 2 updates, Realm of Ink has been one to watch. With frenetic combat, an isometric viewpoint, and gorgeous paint-inspired visuals, developer Leap Studio’s steady stream of updates keeps taking the early access game from strength to strength. Realm of Ink’s journey has been hit by a sudden roadblock, however, as the entire game has been delisted from Steam, and the developer says it doesn’t know why.

Realm of Ink is a Hades-inspired adventure that finally launched into Steam Early Access last year. Since then, developer Leap Studio has dropped multiple updates for the ink-filled roguelike game, with new powers and perks being added as recently as December of last year. The full game is expected to launch in the first half of 2025, but a mysterious Steam delisting has suddenly thrown quite a spanner in the works.

“We wanted to inform you that Realm of Ink has been removed from the Steam store,” Leap Studio writes. “Unfortunately, we are currently unaware of the specific reason for this action, but we are doing our best to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”

“We understand that this may cause confusion and concern, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Please rest assured that we are doing everything we can to get the game back online.

“We would also like to reassure you that the development of Realm of Ink will continue as planned. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience and continued support. We will keep you updated on any progress and will notify you once the game is available again on Steam. Thank you!”

You can easily read the Realm of Ink Steam page via the Wayback Machine, but all normal links currently throw you back to the Valve store’s front page. So if you’ve been considering giving Realm of Ink a shot, or think it looks like the perfect companion to Hades 2, you’ll have to wait to try it yourself.

According to Leap Studio everything else about Realm of Ink is currently on track, so you can expect the full 1.0 launch sometime in March 2025.
