To help you figure it out, we’ve created a detailed guide explaining every step to get to The Depths. Be patient and stock up on bait because this path will take a lot of time.
How To Get To The Depths
If you want to get into The Depths, you need to fulfill two main conditions:
- Complete the Vertigo Bestiary.
- Find The Depths Key.
Luckily, in both cases, just fishing is all you need to do to complete these tasks. Firstly, you need to get to a fishing spot. In this case, to complete the Vertigo Bestiary, you will need to catch a fish in Vertigos Dip.
To get to the Vertigos Dip, you first need to find the Strange Whirlpool and jump into it. Fortunately, the Strange Whirlpool is quite common, and you can quickly find it while traveling around the islands. Don’t confuse strange whirlpools with ordinary ones. The one you need is distinguished by a bright beam coming from the middle of the whirlpool.
If you find one, don’t rush to jump. First, fish a little here to catch an Isonade. This is the only fish from the Vertigo bestiary that you need to catch not in the Vertigos Dip but in the Strange Whirlpool area. If you have already caught Isonade, then just jump into the center of the Strange Whirlpool to get to Vertigos Dip.
Once there, go down to the very bottom until you find a fishing area. This is the location where you need to catch the rest of the Vertigo Bestiary. The Depths Key is also a part of this bestiary, so keep fishing until you find it. In general, except for the aforementioned Isonade and The Depths Key itself, you need to catch the following fish to complete the bestiary:
- Night Shrimp
- Rubber Ducky
- Spiderfish
- Voidfin Mahi
- Twilight Eel
- Abyssacuda
- Fangborn Gar
Finally, once you have completed the bestiary and found the key, the last step you need to take is to find The Keeper (20, -705, 1255) and talk to him to open the gate. Once you do this, the passage to The Depths will be open to you permanently.
