It’s one of the most challenging bosses in the game, with a complicated move set, which you can only tackle if you are prepared enough.

Without using Nightsoul characters, this battle will become much harder, so you’ll need to send your strongest DPS characters from Natlan to stand a chance against this beast. The boss’s moves can be tough to predict, but they become easily avoidable if you observe its movements carefully.
How To Find The Lord Of Eroded Primal Fire
To get access to the boss battle, complete Act V of Chapter 5 “Incandescent Ode of Resurrection” of the Archon Quest. You will face the boss for the first time during the quest. However, the fight is automated and plays differently to the weekly boss.
To defeat the boss in the Archon quest, you need to destroy pillars with Mavuika first and then launch a powerful attack at the shadow of the dragon using the Traveller.
After completing the quest, the trounce domain “Stone Stele Records” will automatically unlock to the west of the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. You can start the battle by interacting with the monument of Natlan heroes.
Recommended Characters To Use
Characters that can deal Nightsoul-aligned damage will help you defeat this particular boss. Your Nightsoul characters can deplete the shield bar below its health quickly. You also need them to destroy the pillars that the boss will summon on the field.
Ideally, we recommend you make a team that only includes characters from Natlan, as they use Nightsoul mechanism efficiently.
Mavuika, Chasca, Mualani or Kinich should be your main damage dealers. You can also use Xilonen to debuff an opponent if you are using DPS characters who rely on elemental damage.
If you don’t own many Nightsoul characters, you should bring out your best DPS characters that deal a lot of damage to cover for it. Some recommendations are Arlecchino, Xiao, and Navia.
The boss has a complex attack pattern, and you might be unable to dodge attacks easily, so we recommend bringing a shielder to your team. The best choice here is Citlali since she can also deal Nightsoul damage and works well with your elemental characters.
Zhongli or Noelle can be your alternative choice for a shielder if you don’t own Citlali.
If you have trouble fighting close-range, you should use strong ranged characters for damage such as 
Ganyu
, Neuvillete, and 
Yanfei

Using the fire sword, Gosoythoth will do a slice attack in the forward direction. It will sometimes follow it up with another slice. |

Gosoythoth will insert the flame sword into the ground, which will then emit waves of fire attacks that cover a wide area. |
The attack is quick, so you need to brace for it as soon as you see Gosoythoth raising the sword high-up to dig it into the ground. Jump over the waves when they are about to hit you. |

Double Sword Smash + Laser |
Gosoythoth brings out his dark sword and smashes it on the ground alongside the flame sword. This will be followed by a long-range laser attack. |
You can recognize this attack when the boss makes a cross-shape with his swords before smashing them. Prepare to dodge the laser attack by running to one edge of the field. |

The boss will first do a slice attack with the flame sword and will follow it up with a smash with the purple sword. The combo isn’t over yet, and the boss will finish it with the cross-slash attack. |
Getting closer to the boss will not help here, as you will get damaged by the sword smash. Instead, you should focus on the direction of slices to dodge them in the opposite direction. |

How To Beat The Lord Of Eroded Primal Fire
The Lord of Eroded Primal Fire is one of the toughest adversaries you will face in Genshin Impact. Its attacks are highly damaging, so you really need to be careful before going on all-out attack. Staying closer to the boss will save you from many slashes and projectile attacks.
During the middle of the fight, the boss summons three pillars, and you need to destroy them as fast as you can using Nightsoul attacks.
If you fail to do so, the boss will launch a giant dark ball from the sky in your direction. This attack is unavoidable and will greatly damage you, even if you have a shield.
If you successfully destroy the pillars, the boss will enter an exhausted phase, which will be your cue to damage it as much as possible.
The boss will also keep slicing the field, so by the end of the battle, it will be much smaller. It might make it harder to get away from the attacks of the boss, so you should prioritize defeating it as soon as you can from here on.
The Lord Of Eroded Primal Flame Boss Rewards
After defeating the Lord of Eroded Primal Flame, you will obtain exclusive ascension materials to level up the talents of your characters.

You will also get Agnidus Agate, which is needed for character ascension. Borderland Weapon Billets can be obtained to craft weapons in Natlan. Some artifact sets that you can get as rewards include Instructor, Berserker, The Exile, Gladiator’s Finale, and Wanderer’s Troupe.
Mavuika needs these ascension materials as of version 5.3, but more characters may need them.
