Metaphor: ReFantazio‘s bonds will occasionally have a quest that will need to be completed in order to continue with the bond’s ranks. One of these examples is Bardon, whose bond is stopped after reaching rank 6 and will require players to complete the side quest The Right To Rule.
This side quest can cause quite the roadblock, as the boss you’re required to fight is level 60, no matter where you are at in the game. For those looking to take down the boss as early as possible, here are some tips to help.

The Utilitarian’s Manual makes Synthesis attacks use fewer Press Turn icons in Metaphor: ReFantazio; here’s where to get it.
After completing Rank 5 of Bardon’s bond, the quest will automatically begin. Bardon can then be found in his usual spot in Martira every day moving forward until you’re ready to battle the boss. Talking with Bardon and saying you’ll help will send you straight to the boss fight, so make sure you’re well prepared beforehand.
The boss is level 60 though it’s very possible to beat it in the early 50s with the right party. Ideally, you’ll want:
- Protagonist – Pugilist
- Eupha – Summoner
- Basilio – Berserker
- Junah – Masked Dancer
Using Skill Inheritance you’ll want a party-wide healing spell along with Dekunda on separate party members. It’s also helpful to have a few party-wide buff spells, as this fight has a unique gimmick that will help them be more effective.

Metaphor: ReFantazio – Best End Game Accessories, Ranked
During the toughest battles in Metaphor: ReFantazio, it’s wise to have the best accessories on hand. These are the most valuable ones to seek out..
This boss is weak to ice and has no other affinities.
The unique twist for this fight is Bardon will occasionally jump in and use a free action to buff your party. The exact buff he uses will range, from buffing all stats by one rank to only one stat by one rank. He will only jump in every four turns, so you’ll also need to use a buff to have your total buffs carry over to his next action and get your party fully buffed with less effort.
Since Bardon will focus on buffing your party, you should focus on debuffing the Greatworm. Use the Pugilist’s Power Thrust and Eupha’s Summon Eagle Lion to lower both its attack and defense, and lessen the stat difference from level. The Greatworm only has a few attacks it uses during the beginning, a party-wide sweep attack, a single-target bite, and Sandstorm.
Sandstorm will not only hit your whole party but also lower your accuracy. It will use this skill often, so be sure to counter the negative effects with Dekunda right away. Once it gets lower in health, it will use a burrow attack that leaves it protected for a turn. When this happens, use all the buffs you can to prepare for the incoming attack and get your party ready to deal as much damage as possible during that turn it is visible. Overall, this boss doesn’t have many attacks, and they will all be physical. As long as you counter the accuracy debuff it will go down in no time.
