What is the Gaming Legend Series?

The Fortnite Gaming Legend skins are a collection of crossover skins, representing the biggest characters in gaming. Or the gaming characters that were willing to work with Epic and put their skins in the game! It’s really down to your interpretation on these characters. The series used to be represented by its own rarity in the item shop. However, that’s not really the case anymore. Now the Gaming Legends label is just the series for the skins, since item rarity got removed for cosmetics.

What Game Has the Most Fortnite Skins?

Outside of Fortnite itself (which obviously has tons, given how many skins are in Fortnite), other games often get more than one representation. But which has the most overall?

There are five Street Fighter skins so far, which is the most out of gaming! Given that SF is a long series, with loads of iconic Street Fighter characters there’s quite a bit to work with. Other series that cycle through characters quicker end up with a lot too, like Resident Evil.

Ultimately it might just be down to how well characters sell and how co-operative the rights holders are. There are tons more potential out there for other Fortnite gaming legends skins, but not everyone wants their character in the game.

Canceled Fortnite Gaming Legends Skins

If you look through Fortnite leaks, you often see upcoming characters. However, these don’t always come to pass. One notable one that gets brought up a lot is Samus. Apparently, Nintendo was approached for the Hunters season, since Samus would be a perfect fit. This was the season that saw a lot of Fortnite Gaming Legends skins added. However, while initially cooperative, they pulled out after learning the character would have to be useable on platforms they don’t own, instead of being Switch exclusive and turning into a default everywhere else.

It’s a shame not everyone wants to use Fortnite like this. However, we have got tons of third-party characters already, including Master Chief, Doom Slayer, and plenty of PS-exclusive skins. The Gaming Legends series is one of the widest in the game right now.
