Black Ops 6's New Squid Game Finishing Move Has a Serious Bug

Summary

  • New “Roped In” finishing move in COD x Squid Game Event Pass doesn’t eliminate opponents.
  • The full animation plays when executing an opponent, but the enemy remains alive after the finishing move is completed.
  • Premium pass costs 1,100 COD points, upset gamers called it “unacceptable.”

A new finishing move featured in the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 update appears to be completely broken, as players report that it does not eliminate opponents as intended. The “Roped In” finishing move is featured in the new Squid Game Event Pass, which has already caused plenty of controversy among the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 community, but fans are now even more irate after paying for the premium track pass and receiving a broken finishing move.

To celebrate the launch of Squid Game Season 2, Activision teamed up with Netflix to bring Call of Duty fans a brand-new, limited-time event featuring some of the show’s most iconic characters, games, and more. Unlike past collaborations, the Call of Duty x Squid Game event features a new Event Pass that works similarly to the seasonal Battle Pass. While there is a completely free version for players to progress through, the event also has a premium track pass that features various cosmetic items, weapon blueprints, and even the Front Man operator skin. Unfortunately, one of the finishing moves included in the premium version of the Squid Game Event Pass appears to be completely unusable.

Call of Duty’s New Roped In Finishing Move Is Broken

In a new post on Twitter, user ElvisCOD brought attention to the broken “Roped In” finishing move from the new Call of Duty x Squid Game Event Pass, showcasing how the execution does not actually finish opponents. As seen in the clip below, the player executes their opponent with the new finishing move equipped, only for the enemy to remain alive after the animation has completed. ElvisCOD tagged the official Call of Duty Updates account, so there’s hope that a fix for the issue will arrive in due course.

This isn’t the first issue to come from Call of Duty’s new Squid Game Event Pass either, as fans have been taking to social media to express their disappointment with yet another Battle Pass being added to the game. Although there is a free version for players to earn special Squid Game rewards, many aren’t happy with the premium version, which costs 1,100 COD points. Some called it “unacceptable,” while certain players even said they were “done” with Call of Duty due to the constant microtransactions.

But for players sticking around and wanting to check out Call of Duty’s new Squid Game crossover, there are plenty of new operator skins, weapon blueprints, and limited-time modes to jump into. For Black Ops 6 players, the new Red Light, Green Light mode gives fans the opportunity to play the famous game for themselves. Warzone players can also get in on the action thanks to a new Squid Game playlist. The new mode features rotating challenges on Urzikstan with underperforming squads eliminated at the end of each round. Players also need to be on the lookout for Red Light, Green Light, which randomly triggers during the course of the game.
