We’ve got a shorter event in today’s Monopoly Go daily leaderboard tournament, the Best Buds Contest, running only from 3PM EST on January 4 to coincide with the end of New Year’s Treasures until 1PM EST on January 5. Make these 22 hours count if you’re playing Best Buds Contest!

Since we’re between longer events in Monopoly Go at the moment, Best Buds Contest is back to the usual spread of Monopoly Go rewards today for the leaderboard tournament. That said, if you rolled through all your dice playing the dig event, Best Buds offers more than 13,000 dice rolls!
How To Earn Rewards In Best Buds Contest
In order to participate in the Best Buds Contest daily leaderboard tournament today, you will, as always, need to aim to land on any of the four Railroad tiles spread around your Monopoly Go game boards. The number of points you earn for the tournament are decided not only by which of the two minigames you play on that Railroad, but how well you score in said minigame as well. Bank Heists are harder to trigger, but they offer more points for the tournaments.
Points Earned During Best Buds Contest In Monopoly Go
Though this is a smaller leaderboard tournament, since it runs for less time and there isn’t an overarching event to work toward as you get through the list of rewards in Best Buds Contest, you can still opt to increase your dice roll multiplier if you’d like to hasten the pace with which you make it through the tournament milestones. We won’t be without a big event for long, though, so others with fewer dice on hand may want to wait until then to roll higher multipliers, so the rewards feel more worth it.
Now that Sofia has flown away to bring the New Year’s Treasures dig event to a close at the same time as Best Buds Contest started, we’re back to more cash payouts and free dice rolls as prizes in the leaderboard today. The biggest prizes in Best Buds Contest are the blue sticker packs at milestones 18, 24, and 30, since the Jingle Joy album season is ending in less than two weeks – these are the second-rarest standard sticker packs, so grab any last-minute rarer stickers you still need before it’s too late!
That said, we do have a special reward for the top ten players on each leaderboard: a new emoji of Sofia’s mom shaking a present, to help round out your festive collection of customizations for the holiday season. If you’re close to finishing your next shelf of emojis, she’s a must!

In addition to introducing the Bank of Monopoly to more players and changing the way rewards work, the recent net worth system overhaul still includes a gradual increase in how much money you earn on every Monopoly Go reward, including those in the table above labeled as “Cash Rewards.” This number is directly proportionate to your net worth, and it grows as you become worth more (and your upgrades get more expensive in turn).
