What To Expect From Disney Dreamlight Valley In 2025

Life simulator Disney Dreamlight Valley had a packed 2024. New Realms were opened, new characters joined the Valley, and the “A Rift in Time” expansion concluded while “Storybook Vale” kicked off. 2025 promises to be an equally busy year for Disney Dreamlight Valley, with a mix of free updates and paid expansion content coming to the game. A roadmap for the first half of 2025 has already been released but, if 2024 is any indication, it does not represent everything planned for 2025; more information will likely be released sometime in the summer.

The 2025 Roadmap Revealed Three Free Content Updates

According to the 2025 roadmap for Disney Dreamlight Valley, players can expect the following updates:

Aladdin And Jasmine Will Arrive In Early 2025

The first of the three planned free updates is slated simply for “Early 2025.” As the current Star Path, “Frost and Fairies,” ends on February 5, it is likely that the update will be sometime in late February or possibly March. Aladdin and Jasmine from the film Aladdin will both be added to the game, as their iconic headwear can be seen on the roadmap. The wording “Explore a new world” may indicate that an Aladdin Realm will be opened in the Dream Castle.

Alice in Wonderland Characters Come In Spring 2025

Next, in Spring 2025, players are invited to “step into a land of wonder” – the setting of the Disney film Alice in Wonderland, of course. Wonderland is also theorized to be a new Realm in the Dream Castle. The Cheshire Cat appears on the roadmap, so he may join as a Villager, although Alice herself, the Mad Hatter, and the Queen of Hearts are also potential inclusions – as typically Realm additions involve two characters being added at once.

The Skull Rock Mystery Is Solved in Summer 2025

In Summer 2025, players will finally find out who or what is trapped inside Skull Rock, a mysterious formation in the Dazzle Beach biome. Skull Rock has been around since the start of the game, and former ruler The Forgotten vaguely recalls a person inside unable to get out – but exactly who is a mystery. The 2025 roadmap hints that the character will hail from the film Peter Pan, with the most common theories being Captain Hook, Tinkerbell, or Peter himself. This update may represent a return to the game’s primary plot, which was paused in 2024 to focus on the introduction of new Realms and characters. Players will finally learn why The Forgotten trapped someone inside Skull Rock, and what their release means for the Valley.

The roadmap only covered the first half of 2025; it is likely that there will be several more updates in the latter half of the year. A new roadmap will likely be revealed sometime in the summer.

The Tale Of Storybook Vale Will Reach Its Epic Conclusion

Also coming in Summer 2025 – although its official release date has not yet been confirmed – is the second half of “The Storybook Vale,” Disney Dreamlight Valley’s second paid expansion. At the end of Part 1’s story, Princess Aurora was still missing and Maleficent unexpectedly disappeared. The expansion’s second part will likely see both characters added as permanent Villagers, as well as conclude the story of the Ink clogging up the Vale and the Lorekeeper’s decreasing powers.

Star Paths, Events, And More

In addition to major content updates, Disney Dreamlight Valley will continue to feature regular Star Paths, in which players can complete various tasks to earn Moonstones, clothing and furniture rewards, and more. The most recent Star Path, “Frost and Fairies,” added extra bonus tasks for even more rewards; it is currently unknown whether future Star Paths will continue this pattern.

Spring will likely see the rerun of the annual Eggstravaganza event, where players can collect and harvest eggs around the Valley. Other events that will almost certainly return in 2025 include the Halloween celebration and holiday-themed Gift of Giving. However, it has not been confirmed whether the Dreamlight Parks Fest and End of Summer events, both of which debuted in 2024, will return or be replaced by brand-new events instead. It is also possible that Disney Dreamlight Valley may feature limited-time events centered around 2025 films, such as Zootopia 2, the live-action/CGI remakes of Snow White and Lilo and Stitch, or Pixar’s Elio.
