Getting tired of the original release roster for Marvel Rivals yet? Well while the wait isn’t over yet, we now have confirmation that the Fantastic Four will be the next Marvel super.heroes added to the game.
Unveiled in a post on X on Jan. 2, The Thing, Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, and the Human Torch will all be arriving in Marvel Rivals in the near future. Details and release date aren’t confirmed but there will be more details unveiled on Jan. 6 with a trailer dropping at 8:00 AM PST / 16:00 UTC.

There’s also another friend joining the Fantastic Four in the reveal picture as a small robot is also riding in the Fantasticar. Is this a fifth hero, or (perhaps more likely) is it part of one of the heroes’ kits.
There’s also a theory that the Fantastic Four may not be a individual heroes, and instead one or more of them could be a ‘swap’ hero, where you switch between the members of the superhero group as part of your abilities.
Either way, it’s widely expected that Ben Grimm, The Thing, will be a tank, Johnny Storm, The Human Torch, a DPS, along with Reed Richards, Mister Fantastic, and that Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman will be some kind of healer/support with shields and invisibility.
The Fantastic Four are definitely fan favorite characters, and while their they’ve struggled to make their presence felt on the big screen where the team has been passed around between movie studios and locked in with mediocre movies, they could make a major impact in Marvel Rivals.
While no release date is announced, we expect the heroes will be released along side Marvel Rivals Season 1 which is arriving on Jan. 6. That’s the same day as the trailer, so it makes sense.
With such a variety of abilities potentially on offer, (especially with The Thing finally giving The Hulk a run for his money in the tank department) we’re sure The Fantastic Four are going to change the face of Marvel Rivals upon release.
