You’ll want to get your hands on plenty of these cards, the best to come out of Pokemon Pocket’s Mystical Island expansion.

It is safe to say that the Grass deck is given more than just Venusaur ex with the Mythical Islands set, but which cards climb up the rank to take the crown as number one? The jungle is thriving with plant life so it’s time to rank them all and find out.

Morelull

Growing Mushrooms

Morelull Mythical Island Pokemon TCG Pocket Card Art.

Morelull is as basic as Basic Pokemon can get. It has 60 HP and one Energy Move that does 20 damage. It also has a Retreat Cost of one. While it doesn’t have any special traits in its Basic form, it is an essential card if you want to make use of some of the stun strategies made available on Mythical Island.

Morelull is also a card that won’t stick around the field too long, since getting it to Evolve to its best form is quick and easy. It’s also a great budget option for Grass decks.

Shiinotic

Dish Out Status Effects Faster

Shiinotic Mythical Island Pokemon TCG Pocket Card Art.

Shiinotic Evolves from Morelull and is a useful Pokemon to add to your team if you want some stun abilities in your deck. Its Move is called Flickering Spores and costs two Energy to start using. This hits for 50 damage and is guaranteed to put your opponent’s Pokemon to Sleep.

Pokemon Pocket: All ex Cards From Mythical Island, Ranked

Ex Pokemon are some of the strongest in Pokemon Pocket, and these cards from Mythical Island are all quite good.

This is a less expensive version of Vileplume in terms of Energy and Retreat Cost. You also only need to Evolve Morelull once to start stun-locking your opponent. This gives Grass decks a less space-consuming option to put your opponent in a bind.

7

Dhelmise

Drop An Anchor On Your Opponent

Dhelmise Mythical Island Pokemon TCG Pocket Card Art.

On its own, Dhelmise doesn’t sound like the best Grass Pokemon to send out. It does 20 damage for one Energy but if you stack it with four, you can do 90 damage. That’s a lot of Energy for something other Pokemon like Pikachu can do for just two.

Luckily, Grass has plenty of ways to get Energy and with Jungle Totem introduced in Mythical Island, Dhelmise can dish out 90 damage for only two Energy. All you need is to set up Serperior on the Bench. This gives Dhelmise a Move that is easy to afford in the early game and hits harder the longer the match goes on.

Exeggcute

Put Grass Energy In Any Deck

Exeggcute Mythical Island Pokemon TCG Pocket Card Art.

Pokemon Pocket usually doesn’t leave enough room to have multi-type decks. However, the Exeggcute found in Mythical Island is a game changer. This is because Execute can generate its own Grass Energy no matter what kind of Energy you choose to run in your deck.

Pokemon Pocket: 10 Best Flair Options

Do you want to show off some of your cards? Flair is an excellent way to do that, and this list will go over the best options.

It can do this through its Growth Spurt Move. This Move does not do damage but lets you take Grass Energy from the Energy Zone. It also only costs one Colorless Energy. Get this done right, and you can splash Exeggutor ex into any deck, giving you a surprise type change during a match.

5

Exeggutor

Punish Energy Reliant Decks

The Exeggutor found in this set may not be an ex Pokemon, but as far as single-point Pokemon go, it has its benefits. For starters, it has a decent 130 HP and has a Move that only requires one Grass Energy and three Colorless. This makes it very splashable in decks that don’t want to commit to the Grass type as a whole.

Psychic does a base damage of 80 and scales depending on how much Energy your opponent’s Pokemon has. This can be a good counter to Mewtwo but can take a while to set up. Luckily, its Exeggcute form can help you set up for this Move with ease.

4

Snivy

Big Gains Have Small Starts

Snivy Mythical Island Pokemon TCG Pocket Card Art.

Snivy is your run-of-the-mill Basic Pokemon. However, what makes it an excellent choice is that it evolves into something much more powerful. Snivy has 70 HP and a Retreat Cost of one. This makes it easy to get out of the way if you accidentally draw it as your only Pokemon in your opening hand.

Vine Whip also does a decent amount of damage for two Energy. It is the equivalent of having Genetic Apex’s Bulbasaur on your side of the field. Once you start Evolving it, you will start seeing some significant gains in usability.

3

Servine

Quick As A Slick Serpent

Servine Mythical Island Pokemon TCG Pocket Card Art.

Servine is not the greatest middle stage Evolution for a starter Pokemon. It doesn’t gain much in terms of power compared to Snivy, and it also only gains an additional 10 HP from its base form. Luckily, it makes up for it by keeping the Retreat Cost to one.

It can also keep attacking using Vine Whip without any additional Energy needed once you Evolve into it. However, this is an example of slow-starting gains for a much better prize down the line. If you can put up with Servine being your middle Pokemon, it will be worth it when you finally Evolve it to its next stage.

2

Serperior

Double Your Energy

Serperior may not be an ex Pokemon, but it brings one of the most powerful Grass Abilities to Pokemon Pocket. This is Jungle Totem, which lets each Grass Energy count for two when they are attached to your Grass Pokemon.

This is one of the most solid pieces of Energy acceleration without actually drawing more Energy from the Energy Zone. This Ability is also one that remains passive whether Serperior is on the Bench or in the Active Spot. Moves that require four Energy, become two-Energy moves. It also helps boost Celebi’s chances of wiping out your opponent’s whole team.

1

Celebi ex

Gets Deadlier With Each Energy

Celebi ex is a monstrous card in Pokemon Pockets Mythical Island expansion. For each Grass Energy Celebi ex has attached to it, you can flip a coin to see if you can deal 50 damage. This is not only a good level of damage for a coin flip Move, but you also get to do this over and over again with no limit.

With Energy accelerators such as Liligant and Serperior, stacking Celebi ex is easy. This way, it can run over any Pokemon even if they have the highest HP possible. Coin flip results don’t mean much when you can flip so many times that it completely overwhelms your opponent’s Active Pokemon.
