Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Moltres ex Promo Can Be Flaired Straight Away

Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Moltres ex Promo Can Be Flaired Straight Away

Summary

  • Moltres ex promo in Premium Pass is underwhelming, but flairs are available immediately.
  • You don’t need duplicates to buy flairs for Moltres ex in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket.
  • Four flairs available for Moltres ex include sparkles, bursts, feathers, and flames, costing 7,200 Shinedust.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket’s January Premium Pass Moltres ex promo has been a divisive one. On one hand, it’s another copy of one of the meta’s most relevant cards. On the other hand, it’s an utterly underwhelming card that pales in comparison to the artwork on November’s Pikachu card and December’s Mewtwo one.

Gotta catch ’em all, gotta catch ’em all (yeah).

Thankfully, if you’re among the bulk of players who are disappointed with the offering, there is one small silver lining— the Moltres ex promo’s flairs are available straight off the bat.

You Can Flair Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket’s Moltres ex Straight Away

Typically, to get flairs for Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket cards, you need to sacrifice your duplicates. With Moltres ex being a one-time promo, that isn’t the case, and as pointed out on Reddit by user MaKTaiL, you can get flairs for the card the second you receive it.

There are four flairs available for Moltres ex in TCG Pocket:

  • Sparkles Flair: Gold (Stars appear on card)
  • Bursts Flair: Orange (Orange fireworks burst from card)
  • Feathers Flair: Orange (Firey orange feathers appear from card)
  • Flames Flair: Orange (Orange flames spiral out of card)

To buy all four flairs, you’re looking at around 7,200 Shinedust, and if you’re anything like me, you have more than you know what to do with, so it seems like an ideal opportunity to spend them.

It’s worth nothing that this trick works for any one-time promo, so the previous Pikachu and Mewtwo Premium Pass cards can be flaired straight away, as can the New Year Pikachu Promo that was just given out.

Of course, this isn’t going to make much of a difference for people who don’t use Moltres ex in their competitive decks, but for those who do, it’s a nice little bonus that comes along with the card.
