The entire magazine is going to be on break next week, and that is to be expected. For fans who are familiar with the Shonen Jump release schedule, it doesn’t come as a surprise at all that One Piece is not getting a consistent run around this time of the year. Usually, the holiday period is chaotic for all the manga running in Weekly Shonen Jump and other magazines. Once the last issue of the year drops, fans usually get one chapter, followed by a break, then another chapter followed by yet another break, and only after that does the magazine ever go on its proper schedule once again. For One Piece, things are no different.
One Piece Chapter 1134 was the last official chapter of 2024. One Piece Chapter 1135 is marked for official release on January 3. Naturally, fans would be expecting One Piece chapter 1136 to come out on January 12. However, that is not going to be the case. One Piece Chapter 1136 is going to be on break in the following week, which means that the chapter is going to be released officially on January 19th, 2025.
This means fans have to wait for almost 3 weeks for the next One Piece chapter, and this waiting time is certainly significant. The fact that the first chapters of 2025 often leaked a week or so in advance makes this waiting time even harder for the fans. Furthermore, the character of Loki, along with King Harald, and all the other exciting elements, such as the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf are all worth discussing. This arc is full of mysteries, and often, a weekly experience doesn’t give fans enough time to absorb everything that is happening at the same time. This break comes as a perfect time and gives fans enough time to think over the various exciting plot developments in the story, all the while theorizing about what would happen next.

It must also be remembered that once fans get One Piece chapter 1136, it is highly likely that Oda will go on another break shortly after. This is because Oda usually follows a three-chapter break schedule, which means that after every three chapters, he takes his own break, regardless of whether there’s a magazine break or not. Given that One Piece chapter 1134 dropped after an Oda break, 1135 would mark the second chapter of the schedule, and 1136 would be the third chapter after the break.
As such, unless Oda changes his schedule, One Piece chapter 1136 is likely to be followed by yet another break, which means that fans will only get one more chapter this month, and that the series will only start publishing consecutively in the month of February, which is still some time away.
What To Expect From One Piece 1136
Fans Should Expect Developments Surrounding The Shanks Lookalike
As far as the events of One Piece chapter 1136 go, there are quite a lot of things that this chapter could focus on, but quite easily, the most important aspect of the story here is surrounding the God’s Knights. These two mysterious individuals popped up in Elbaf recently and it has now been revealed that they are looking for Loki. Clearly, they will not stop at any cost, and they will eventually find a way to him. It is likely that the Giants guarding the castle will submit to their wishes and reveal the location of Loki to them, which means that they will most likely find their way to him. This sets up an exciting confrontation between Loki and the God’s Knights, and it is possible that Luffy is going to stop them from killing him and taking his Devil Fruit from him.

At the same time, it must also be remembered that Luffy meeting these two mysterious individuals is going to be absolutely massive for the plot. To Luffy, this Shanks look-alike will likely come off as the Red-haired Emperor at first, which means that he might just think that it is time for the massive reunion. But, of course, it will then be revealed that this person is not Shanks but a look-alike, despite having a strength similar to his. Things cannot be more exciting in the Elbaf right now, and fans absolutely cannot wait for Luffy and the Shanks lookalike to come face to face.
One Piece chapter 1136 is also likely going to focus on Loki in some way or form. Given that he is in chains right now, Oda is very limited in regards to what he can do with this character. But, the Shaggy individual that he’s speaking to is certainly providing fans more depth in regards to Loki until he’s truly freed. But, with the God’s Knights seeking him out, Loki could be under the spotlight again and more information could be revealed about what happened 6 years ago when he was imprisoned.

With the introduction of the villains in Elbaf already, the story will likely edge closer to Loki being freed, and from there onwards, the confrontation with the enemies of the arc. Hopefully, Elbaf will have a lot in store for the fans, and this Arc is certainly going to be absolutely phenomenal, if the start is anything to go by. There is certainly an excruciatingly long wait for the fans before they get to enjoy One Piece chapter 1136, but this is a story that is certainly worth waiting for.
