Japanese voice actress Fairouz Ai announced on social media she will limit work activities due to health concerns. She is best known as Jolyne Cujoh in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean and Linia Dedoldia in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation.
Fairouz Ai Kadota was born to a Japanese mother and an Egyptian father. She was born in Japan, but spent a few years of her childhood in Cairo, then later moved back to Japan. During junior high school, she became a huge Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure fan and ended up pursuing a career in the acting industry, aiming to be a voice actress. As her parents didn’t approve it, she saved money after working as a dental assistant and enrolled in a voice acting training school. She is affiliated with Raccoon Dog.

Jolyne Kujo was a massive breakthrough for female characters in anime and manga.
She announced on social media that she has developed post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and will focus on recovering, thus limiting her work activities. In a note, she states she developed PTSD months ago, and also asked people to refrain from speculating as the cause of her PTSD is a private matter:
Here is a translation of the note:
To those who have always supported me
As stated on the official [Raccoon Dog’s] website, I have developed post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the last months. I’ve been working hard to live up to the expectations and support I have received from all of you, but now I will focus on my treatment to recover both physically and mentally as quickly as possible. I’ve also received support from my agency and those around me, and I will limit my work activities for a while.
The cause of the disease is a private matter, so please refrain from prying or speculating.
I’m deeply sorry for causing concern and inconveniences to the productions and characters I love, for the wonderful staff working on them and for all my fans who are always so kind to me.
I’ll do my best to recover both physically and mentally so I can soon be with all of you once again in good health. Please, continue to love those characters and works.

New Host for Seiyuu to Yoasobi
As she is limiting her activities, she is stepping back from her role as the host on Seiyuu to Yoasobi, a variety show on Abema focusing on voice actores. Nobuhiko Okamoto (Rin Okumura in Blue Exorcist), who is also affiliated with Raccoon Dog, will be replacing her.
Other Notable Works
Her first major role was Hibiki Sakura in How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?, an anime that even inspired Fairouz Ai to start weightlifting. She later played Manabu in Tropical-Rouge Precure, and then was cast as Jolyne Cujoh in JoJo. It is still unclear if this pause will affect roles like Kikoru Shinomiya (Kaiju No. 8), Live (Mayonaka Punch), Kana Sakuragi (Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc.), Linia (Mushoku Tensei) and other characters from productions that have already confirmed sequels or are likely to confirm it. Let’s hope she can recover soon.
Also, as fans usually think “Fairouz” is her surname, she came forward once to explain that she is called “Fairouz Ai” and not “Ai Fairouz” (it’s a two-word given name). Her family name is Kadota.
PTSD is a mental and behavioral disorder that develops from experiencing traumatic events (usually associated with violence). Everyone is susceptible to developing PTSD, as everyone can be exposed to traumatic events. Those who suspect they might have developed any mental disorder should seek professional help (WHO offers overview information on PTSD).
