As strange as it may sound, this month’s new DC Lego sets includes the first Superman building kit in more than a decade. Superman Mech vs. Lex Luthor, which is exactly what it sounds like, joins a very small list of Superman Lego products. There have been a few minifigure releases, including a Lego keychain that’s still available, but as far as actual building sets go, this is the first since Superman vs. Power Armor Lex in 2012. The only other Superman building set is a 2014 Duplo playset. But with the new Superman film hitting theaters this July, the Clark Kent’s return to the alien world of Lego couldn’t have come at a better time.
Superman Mech vs. Lex Luthor is one of three new DC Lego sets that dropped this month. The other two sets feature Lego mainstay Batman, including a new small-scale playset featuring the Batmobile Tumbler from The Dark Knight.
You can check out all three of the new Lego DC building sets below. For more on Lego’s 100-plus releases in January 2025, check out our roundups focused on Lego Marvel, Star Wars, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, and Harry Potter.

It’s a big year for Superman fans, and to get the ball rolling on the upcoming James Gunn-directed film, you can grab a Lego set that puts the Man of Steel inside of a mech of steel (read: plastic). The 120-piece Superman Mech vs. Lex Luthor Lego set retails for only $15.
Lego has released a bunch of these buildable mech figures with articulated joints in recent years. Last summer, Batman received his own mech, and there are a bunch of Marvel-themed editions, including newly released Spider-Man and Iron Man mechs.
But as mentioned, this Superman Lego set is only the second proper Lego building set based on the classic hero. Weirdly enough, the aforementioned Superman vs. Power Armor Lex building set is essentially the inverse of this one. That kit included Lex Luthor at the controls of a mech, towering over minifigure Superman. Now, the roles are reversed, and Superman is the one towering over the Lex minifigure.

Lego retired the large-scale Batmobile Tumbler model kit late last year, but if you never got around to buying it or didn’t want to spend upwards of $270 to add it to your collection, this new set might be for you. It’s admittedly more of a playset than an intricate model, but Batman Tumbler vs. Two-Face and The Joker still looks pretty great considering its restrained piece count of 429. This set comes with Batman, Joker, and Two-Face minifigures as well as a (nonfunctional) Bat-Signal projector.
There are several other Batmobile Lego sets–as well as Batcycle kits–to consider, including the 1,822-piece Classic Batmobile based on the 1966 TV series. This one has been hard to find in stock, but it’s currently available at Target for retail price ($150). For a something different, there’s the Lego Batman Construction Figure and Bat-Pod Bike, which is on sale for $52 at Amazon. This 713-piece kit includes a buildable Batman action figure and his bike from The Dark Knight series.
$20
The newest addition to Lego’s burgeoning four-and-up Batman lineup, the Batman and Batmobile vs. Mr. Freeze playset includes 63 pieces and is designed for young fans who are just getting into Lego.
For another Batman set geared toward preschoolers, check out Batmobile Pursuit: Batman vs. The Joker, which released last summer.
