eFootball 2025 New Year Epic Pack Review

eFootball 2025 New Year Pack cover

eFootball 2025 has been generous in dishing out some interesting shiny new cards for us players this festive season. For the first time, we have a Box Draw featuring seven epic cards, but the catch is that it has 250 players in total. Although the odds have improved, the cash to splurge on this pack is also higher now. Dubbed as the New Year Epic Pack, let us check all the seven Epic players in this pack alongside the Big Time card and see if they all are good fits for your squad in eFootball 2025.

Gareth Bale

  • Position: LWF
  • Playing Style: Prolific Winger
  • Showtime Skill: Phenomenal Finishing

One of the best card designs in the game, Bale gets a fantastic card overall, and you can say it is a highly deserving one too. He looks like an incredible winger, perfect for cutting in from the right and delivering powerful shots or precise crosses. Given how physicality has been the meta for a long time now, with Bale, you can’t go wrong.

I’ve been unlucky in many packs but had a good time at the end of 2024, but guess the unlucky side is back again. I splurged whatever coins I had to get Bale, but did not. But given I have already faced him in online events, his dribbling is phenomenal, with the player ID giving him the ability to glide past defenders effortlessly, and his speed is unmatched, which will be a nightmare for any full-back.

Coming to the shooting, that Phenomenal Finishing skill is already a huge buff to any player, so even Bale gets a benefit of that. He has good finishing, curl, and kicking power making him a lethal threat from inside and outside the box. Have his Finishing in the 90s, buff his Physical Contact to the 90s and you’ll see a fantastic CF/SS/RWF hybrid that is untouchable.

Andriy Shevchenko

  • Position: CF
  • Playing Style: Goal Poacher
  • Showtime Skill: Phenomenal Finishing

Shevchenko looks like an absolute poacher’s dream, with an insane ability to finish chances that most players would miss. His card has a fantastic balance between speed and precision, and if you have his single booster version, you’ll know what I’m telling you. Combine finishing with his sharp offensive awareness, and you’ll find that he’s always in the right place at the right time to pounce on crosses or through balls.

His speed and acceleration are incredible too, so he’ll effortlessly outpace defenders, especially when you launch him on a counter. What really stands out is his shooting, especially his long-range shots, he can take them from anywhere and still be a serious threat. His heading ability is solid, and though his weak foot usage isn’t the best, his dominant foot more than makes up for it.

Roberto Baggio

  • Position: CF
  • Playing Style: Deep-Lying Forward
  • Showtime Skill: Momentum Dribbling

This guy was my first target since Baggio’s Italy card was fantastic when it came in the 2024 edition. He looks like an incredible deep-lying forward, blending his fantastic technical abilities with creative playmaking. His dribbling and ball control are top-notch and with his offensive awareness, he’s always in the right position to make plays.

His finishing is clinical, especially when taking shots from inside the box or from range, thanks to his impressive long-range and curling shots. His speed and acceleration make him a constant threat on the counterattack. I suggest buffing his passing and making use of his skills as an SS, especially one-touch and through balls, to add to his playmaking.

Andy Cole

  • Position: CF
  • Playing Style: Goal Poacher

With the top Showtime skill cards done, let us move to the other gems. Now, this might come as a surprise, but if you have managed to pull this card, double thumbs up! One of the strikers who doesn’t have a glaring weakness. A well-rounded and physical presence to the attack, Cole was head and finish the ball well, and even has a solid weak foot.

His dribbling is solid, especially for a player of his type, with tight possession and the ability to move past defenders when needed. The speed and acceleration make him agile enough to make quick bursts into the box, and with his kicking power, he can take on goalkeepers from a distance. Although his passing isn’t his strongest suit, he can still link up play effectively with quick, one-touch passes.

Stefano Fiore

  • Position: RMF
  • Playing Style: Hole Player

Okay now, here’s the only player I pulled (till now). I’ve played a handful of games with him and I can vouch for it when I say this guy is awesome. Stefano Fiore is a fantastic hole player who truly shines with his dribbling and ball control. He’s got that finesse on the ball that makes it seem like defenders are just sliding off him. His ability to glide past players with tight possession is something else.

Combine that with his solid speed and acceleration, and you’ve got a player who’s almost impossible to stop when he’s on the move. His low passes and through passes are sharp. I built him as a winger, still his finishing caught me off guard, he’s clinical inside the box. Add to that his kicking power, and Fiore is a danger from range too. Buff his passing and you can cross in some excellent passes inside.

Ray Parlour

  • Position: RMF
  • Playing Style: Box-to-Box

You have a good center midfielder with this wide midfielder. Confused? Well, Ray Parlour is that versatile box-to-box player who can work as a CMF with all-around stats, though it’s really up to you how you want to build him. If I compare him with Fiore, I’d be wrong doing so, even though both share the same positions.

What’s cool about Parlour is with the right build, his ability to contribute both defensively and offensively. With the playstyle, he can get forward and support attacks with decent finishing and a bit of long-range shooting flair while also being able to cover ground quickly. I suggest either an AMF or CMF build will be impactful.

Ze Roberto

  • Position: LMF
  • Playing Style: Cross Specialist

I have the Zé Roberto card from the box draw we got with the Contract Tickets at the start of the season. To be honest, I wasn’t very impressed at first. The playstyle, the stats, nothing seemed to click. Don’t get me wrong, he was flashy, but for some reason, I just couldn’t find much value in him. But now, this new version of the card has completely changed my perspective.

This updated Zé Roberto card is an entirely different beast. As a Cross Specialist at LMF, you can call him a flashy mini-Beckham. Dribbling seems to be the same, but that playstyle is a huge bonus if you have strikers waiting for crosses in the box. Offensively, he’s a threat with his precise shooting and long-range abilities, while defensively, he’s reliable enough to help regain possession. Another solid pick.

Okay, so overall, this pack is quite intriguing. It features seven really good players, with three of them standing out as the best in their respective positions. However, since this is a 250-player pack, it’s not going to be an easy one to clear, especially if you’re a free-to-play or light spender.

On the flip side, the odds of pulling an Epic here are noticeably better compared to the usual 150-player packs. My suggestion? Go ahead and test your luck! With at least five solid starters in this pack, you might just hit the jackpot and land the players you’ve been eyeing. Again, if you pull Bale, Shevchenko, Baggio, or even Cole, consider 2025 is going to be nice to you, atleast in the game.
