Summary
- We’re all familiar with collecting Pokémon cards, but what about Pokémon soap?
- In Germany, a children’s brand collaborated with Pokémon to create several bottles of themed shampoo based around Pokémon Sapphire.
- One fan decided to collect them all, and took to Reddit to share their collection of quirky shampoos.
It’s no secret that Pokémon is a legendary franchise, with over two decades of relevance and no signs of stopping anytime soon. Perhaps the most legendary part about Pokémon is the sheer number of awesome collectibles that exist, including figurines and a card game, among other additions.
Oh, and soap.
Yes, soap. Because, as it turns out, in Germany, Bübchen, a brand dedicated to skincare products for babies and kids, decided to collaborate with the popular IP to create Pokémon-themed soap. And not just any soap, either. Shampoo based around Pokémon Sapphire, the first game of Gen 3.
And just like the games and show, someone managed to “Catch ‘Em All.”

Get Schiggy With It
As first shared on Reddit, a German Pokémon fan managed to collect all eight bottles of the Bübchen shampoo line. Each bottle is dedicated to a specific Pokémon, with four of them having matching colorways.
There are four dedicated to Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Pikachu, with matching colors. Then, on top of that, there are four dedicated to Mewtwo, Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza in sleek black bottles.
Naturally, fans in the Reddit thread were more interested in the German translation of popular Pokémon. For example, Squirtle is Schiggy and Charmander is Glumanda. As cool as the Squirtle Squad is, the Schiggy Squad has just as good of a ring to it.
“I don’t want to smell like a Weezing,” the collector wrote in response, before the commenter revealed it was all a joke.
“I just made it up to pull your leg,” they wrote. “I barely know anything of Pokémon, and I even had to Google the names for them.”
Jokes aside, these are a pretty cool lot of collectibles, and they certainly beat the typical mini-figurines and what have you. As for this writer, I would love a bottle of Pikachu shampoo. I’m not sure why, but I reckon it probably smells the best of the lot.
