In order to get your hands on this unique mount, you must leave no stone unturned on Siren Isle. Thrayir itself is essentially dead, locked in stasis within the bowels of the isle, and you will need to scavenge various runekeys from the place to revive and free it. After you do so, it will then join you on your future adventures.

Where Thrayir Is

The body of Thrayir, Eyes of the Siren, on the floor in a chamber in the Forgotten Vault.

Lying on the floor of the Forgotten Vault’s eastern chamber, Thrayir awaits someone to unlock its runic bindings and awaken it from its stasis. With the Forgotten Vault accessed through the Sacred Hollow on the north shore of Siren Isle, that is where you must go to find this galeorn.

How To Awaken Thrayir From Stasis

Encircling Thrayir in its chamber are five runestones. When unlocked by runekeys you can find around Siren Isle, you will free the galeorn from its stasis. Each runestone has its own corresponding runekey, and upon unlocking them all, Thrayir will arise and offer the quest Thrayir, Eyes of the Siren, which awards him as a mount.

The runestones and their runekeys are:

  • Cyclonic
  • Thunderous
  • Torrential
  • Turbulent
  • Whirling

You don’t have to unlock all five runestones at once. You can unlock them as you come across their respective runekeys.

During the storm phase of Siren Isle, a rare kraken named Zek’ul the Shipbreaker sometimes floats ashore in the Deadfin Mire of the isle, its southwestern shore. This monster can drop the Cyclonic Runekey needed to unlock the Cyclonic Runestone.

Additionally, this runekey can also be rarely fished up from the waters around the mire.

How To Obtain The Thunderous Runekey

The Thunderous Runekey needs to be created through the fusing of five of its Thunderous Fragments. These can be found in chests scattered around Siren Isle.

How To Obtain The Torrential Runekey

The Torrential Runekey is another runekey that needs to be reforged from its fragments. These Torrential Fragments drop from any mob on Siren Isle during a storm phase, and you need seven of them in order to craft the Torrential Runekey.

How To Obtain The Turbulent Runekey

Three Turbulent Fragments are needed to synthesize the Turbulent Runekey. There are three spots on Siren Isle where the fragments lie, and you need to venture into the storm phase of the isle to find and loot them.

In order to enter the storm phase of Siren Isle, speak to the goblin Suzie Boltwrench near the mooring of the zeppelin in Flotsam Shoal

The three spots where the Turbulent Fragments are found are:

  • At the runestone inside the Spirit Scarred Cave east of Ghoststone Diggings
  • In a pile of dirt in the grave site behind the Kul Tiran house overlooking Ghoststone Diggings
  • Just outside the Rotting Hole, a small cave near The Drain

A rare iron vrykul that spawns within the Forgotten Vault during storms holds the final runekey: the Whirling Runekey. This iron vrykul is Ksvir the Forgotten, and the runekey is a certified drop from him.
