Summary
- 2025 has only just started and we’ve already got a new leak for GTA 6.
- Calling it new might be a stretch, though, as it was reportedly filmed all the way back in 2021.
- Actually, calling it a leak might be a stretch as well since it really doesn’t show anything new.
A Grand Theft Auto 6 leak that was seemingly recorded from the Rockstar Games offices in 2021 has resurfaced, but it shows so little that fans are having a hard time caring.
As you’d expect from what is bound to be one of the biggest video games of all time (until GTA 7, at least), there have been a whole bunch of leaks for GTA 6 ever since we knew it was officially in development as the untitled next game in the series. While the biggest leaks are long behind us ever since the infamous data breach of 2022, it seems there are still more of them out there.

Most Anticipated Game is not a real award, but it still has an interesting history.
Barely a day into 2025, the year that GTA 6 is supposed to be releasing in, a brand-new leak for GTA 6 started making the rounds on social media. There are a lot of stories going around about the leak, with some suggesting that it was filmed by a Rockstar Games employee at some point during 2021, leaving a lot of questions about how it’s been held onto for so long.
Although that sounds like a very exciting set-up for a GTA 6 leak, the end result is sadly a little underwhelming. The video is incredibly shaky and really only gives us a blurry look at the inside of Rockstar’s office, while also showing a PS5 dev kit sitting on the table next to a PC that’s running the game.
As for what’s shown of Grand Theft Auto 6, it’s really not that much. Twitter user GTAVInewz shared a screenshot of the leak, which shows Lucia in what appears to be her default clothes standing around next to a wall. We don’t get a glimpse of the UI or anything new from Vice City, so it’s a bit of a let down considering how much must have been risked to get the footage.
The general reaction from GTA fans has been bemusement that anyone would risk their job for such an undeniably useless leak. Yes, if this had been shared in 2021 it might have made quite an impact, but it resurfacing many years after the fact basically gives us nothing interesting to talk about. But hey, it’s certainly a GTA 6 leak, and we can’t complain about that too much.
