eFootball 2025 has been generous in dishing out some interesting shiny new cards for us players this festive season and one of the most rewarding campaigns in recent times, the Festive Season Campaign is bringing us a spectacular box draw to enjoy. While I believe the majority has completed the 18 free tries to get a Selection Contract, I’m sure everyone will wait to finish all 26 tries before jumping in to get one of the five Epic players. For those who are yet to make up their minds, here’s my European Clubs Special Selection Contract Guide to select the best picks out of the five in eFootball 2025.
Five players are available in total for you to select.
David Villa
- Position: CF
- Playing Style: Goal Poacher
David Villa looks like a clinical striker with excellent finishing and offensive awareness. His awareness and acceleration help him get past tight spaces, while his good dribbling makes him effective in one-on-one situations, powered by high balance. I have his Starter Set version, and this card seems to be a bigger upgrade than that, so easily can say he will work well.
On the downside, his aerial ability and physical presence are not his strongest points, so he may struggle in more physical battles against defenders. That said, his stats scream that he can easily pull through tight spaces. His auto build carries him to a 104, so KONAMI has designed it in a way that this guy be your first pick. I see this card as an Inzaghi who can dribble. If you’re after a sharp, quick striker who will continuously make runs, Villa could be a great option.
Belletti
- Position: RB
- Playing Style: Offensive Wingback
The only Double Booster Epic card in the pack, and makes his first appearance in the game. Belletti seems like a strong offensive-minded fullback, combining speed and stamina, and a few lucky players who already pulled him have the same experience. Defensively, he handles wingers well, as my opponents who had him did well against my wingers.
Still, as a fullback build, I can see him struggle slightly against physical wingers due to his average physical contact stats. I believe the auto-build isn’t the right fit for him. If you can somehow slap two Position Boosters for him for CB, and build him up for it, he can be a top-notch CB given he fits the speed and physical meta and goes to 102 at the position.
Wesley Sneijder
- Position: AMF
- Playing Style: Creative Playmaker
Wesley Sneijder looks like the kind of player who can dictate the pace of the game with his exceptional ball control and creative passing. One of his plus points is his ability to play in any part of the pitch. His dribbling and technique make him highly effective in tight spaces, and his low pass and lofted pass stats allow him to deliver precise passes.
Though his physical presence may be lacking compared to more rugged midfielders, you can’t deny he is a wonderful AMF. Pure AMFs in this game are kind of hard to find, and Wesley’s stats scream that you can’t go wrong. Still, I would suggest giving him an SS/AMF hybrid build. Cut off a little of that high dribbling and have him as a finisher with a couple of skills added, would work the best.
Darren Fletcher
- Position: CMF
- Playing Style: Destroyer
The most curious card for me is here. Darren Fletcher looks like the ideal defensive-minded midfielder, ready to put in the hard work to protect the defense and break up opposition attacks. He looks aggressive, not just the stats, but this can help to read the game. Defensively sound, so his solid tackling also is a boost, heading also goes to the 90s with a proper build.
Coming to his other attributes, his passing is reliable, especially in short-range distribution, but he may not be the one to unlock defences unless you slap him with a few passing skills, especially Through passing. Better as a DMF, again, skip the auto-build and make him an aggressive DMF who can pass the ball and build from the back.
Freddie Ljungberg
- Position: RMF
- Playing Style: Roaming Flank
Freddie was always a fun card to use during my PES days when I had his Gold Ball Legend version. Coming to this particular card, Ljungberg looks like a perfect fit for teams that do Quick Counter or Long Ball counter. He ticks the boxes that a winger needs: pace, dribbling, and agility, which allow him to beat defenders down the flank.
For a wide midfielder, his defensive work rate may not be top-notch, so a Winger build is suggested. His stamina and work ethic ensure that he can contribute offensively for the full 90 minutes. If you are going for him, Ljungberg would be most effective in a setup where you use him to stretch the opposition and create openings, especially in Counter Attacking and Out Wide systems.
For the European Clubs Special Selection Contract in eFootball 2025, David Villa is the best pick and most probably the player who will be the highest picked. He’s a great striker with excellent finishing, speed, and movement, and even though the striker market is flooded, you can’t go wrong with him. Wesley Sneijder and Belletti are two other picks who are starter materials, and I personally will be taking Belletti if I don’t pull him off my 26 free tries (most likely not a single epic).
Freddie Ljungberg is a good option too. He’s fast, has great stamina, and is good at dribbling, for players who are searching for wingers, and also Arsenal fans, no worries about skipping him. Darren Fletcher is a reliable defensive midfielder, but he’s not as versatile as other options, so there may be better choices for your team.
