- 2025 looks to continue that buffet, as executive producer Akio Iyoku hinted at more to come recently.
- When asked about future projects, Iyoku said there “may” be announcements in 2025.
The executive producer of Dragon Ball, Akio Iyoku, has suggested that there “may” be some announcements for upcoming movies and video games in 2025.
Not counting all of those poor Super diehards who are still waiting to hear more about Black Frieza or see the Moro arc get an anime adaptation, Dragon Ball fans have been eating incredibly well over the past few years. 2024 in particular was a landmark year for the franchise, with a whole new anime in the form of Daima and the highly-anticipated release of Sparking Zero both launching closely together.

And yet, as big as 2024 was, it seems that this year is going to be no slouch either. Ignoring the continuation of Daima and DLC for Sparking Zero, Kakarot, and Xenoverse 2, we already know about a few projects that might end up launching in 2025. As it turns out, though, there might be even more in store.
New Dragon Ball Games And Movies Could Be Announced This Year
As pointed out by Twitter user DBsHype, Japanese late-night radio program All Night Nippon held a special episode last night to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball. The episode featured a few key guests, including series overall executive producer Akio Iyoku, who appeared to answer questions about the future of Dragon Ball.
According to Twitter user peraperayume, who translated some of the answers that Iyoku gave, the executive producer was asked at one point whether we’d hear anything more about upcoming projects, such as any Dragon Ball movies, games, or even more TV shows. In response, Iyoku said that there “may” be some announcements to come in 2025 to look forward to.
While Iyoku’s statement is fairly vague and could be referring to anything to do with Dragon Ball, it is interesting to think that we might hear more about future games in the series. Sparking Zero only just launched and a bunch of other Dragon Ball titles are all continuing to get support this year, but there’s still plenty of room for more unique experiences.
As much as I’d like to say that we’re definitely going to hear about new Dragon Ball games this year, if I were a betting man I’d say that Iyoku’s comments are to do with a new movie. It’s been a while since Super: Super Hero, after all, so no doubt that there are more movie projects in the works that we’ll hear more about it.
