Players of Saber Interactive’s popular third-person action title Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 are reporting complete resets of their class stats, which are kicking their battle-hardened characters back down to level one. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, which allows both online and offline play, was released in September 2024, drawing in two million players on launch day.
Ranking as the most successful Warhammer video game to date and one of Saber Interactive’s best-selling titles, the game has continued to expand, with a new Space Marine 2 roadmap for 2025 outlining what players can expect to see in the year ahead. This includes the recently launched “Decimation” event, new weapon skins, a fresh PvE map, new PvE content (including Horde Mode), and the new Salamander Sniper Champion.

Space Marine 2 Fans Think 2-Player Emotes Are on the Way
Eagle-eyed Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 fans offer a big reason to believe two-player emotes are coming to the game.
Some players report that their character’s class sets have been entirely reset, returning them to level one. With complaints being voiced both on Reddit and on Saber Interactive’s own blog posts, players are reporting a limited response to support tickets, saying only that Saber is receiving a lot of complaints regarding the issue. With no official confirmation of the source of the problem or guidance on how to address it, users are recommending others to stay offline until a formal fix has been implemented. Whether or not the new class resets are tied to the recently released Space Marine 2 update (which includes the new Tzaangor Enlightened enemy type, various cosmetic packs, and a PvE map) has yet to be confirmed.
Space Marine 2 Class Stats Randomly Being Reset to Level One
While Saber Interactive has not offered any insight into the string of class resets, it’s not the developer’s first encounter with player stat bugs. Shortly after the game’s release, players took to Steam forums and other outlets to complain about lost progress and level resets. That issue seemed to have been addressed until it cropped up again recently. Saber has tended to keep up with these kinds of developments in the past, responding concretely to player backlash over the kinds of difficulty and game balance adjustments seen in the previous Space Marine 2 update.
As players continue to join the intergalactic fight and Saber plots out new Space Marine 2 content far into the foreseeable future, many players believe getting kinks like this worked out should be a top priority, as failing to do so could result in the recent player drop seen in Helldivers 2. Given the nearly inexhaustible well of pre-existing lore for the franchise, keeping players sated with fresh space-cannon fodder shouldn’t be difficult, as long as the developers can keep the game functioning smoothly.
