Some Marvel Rivals fans are playfully comparing the game’s version of Squirrel Girl to past iterations, with many preferring NetEase’s take on the rodent-commanding heroine. Marvel Rivals blends some of the most famous characters in comics with Overwatch-style hero shooter action for a multiplayer battle royale that has already proven to be a hit with gamers. Its roster features an assortment of mainstream characters like Hulk and Spider-Man and relative newcomers like Luna Snow and the Lin Lie version of Iron Fist.
The Marvel Rivals line-up also features Squirrel Girl, a quirky superhero who has been saving the day since her first appearance in Marvel Super-Heroes Vol. 2 #8 in 1991. Doreen Allene Green possesses the ability to communicate with squirrels in addition to a host of squirrel-like powers, all of which have enabled her to challenge some of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe. Squirrel Girl was confirmed as a playable Duelist in Marvel Rivals alongside the aforementioned Iron Fist back in November, less than a month before the game launched on December 6.
