An incredibly lucky Pokemon GO player is sharing the moment they successfully caught a Shiny Galarian Moltres at the last possible second, all while less than ideally prepared. The Pokemon GO moment has impressed other players and left more than a few understandably envious.

Adding Shiny Galarian Legendary birds to one’s Pokedex in Pokemon GO isn’t the easiest thing. There are many rare Pokemon available in the title, but the Galarian Legendary birds are some of the hardest to capture. Their spawns are typically limited to when players are under the effect of Daily Adventure Incense, and even then, a capture isn’t guaranteed.

There have certainly been many encounters with Galarian Legendary birds where players have missed their chance to catch one, but luckily for Simple-Scarcity-5353, they’re not one of them. The Reddit user explained that they were on a bus and used their Daily Adventure Incense, not expecting much to come of it. To their surprise, a Shiny Galarian Moltres appeared. However, Simple-Scarcity-5353 only had nearly no battery life left on their phone, and no power bank or external source available. With mere moments to secure their catch, they threw every Ultra Ball they had at the Moltres to no avail. In a last ditch attempt of desperation, they used a standard Poke Ball, and actually captured the Legendary bird with just 1% battery remaining.

Outside of those congratulating Simple-Scarcity-5353, a few have expressed envy, and it’s easy to understand why. Capturing any rare Pokemon in a standard Poke Ball is difficult, but the Galarian Legendary birds are known for how difficult they can be to capture under the best circumstances. While they won’t flee from the trainer, many players have tried catching them with berries and plenty of Ultra Balls at their disposal, just to fail. With no time left, no mention of any berry use, and a standard Poke Ball, this player achieved something that many can only dream of.

Of course, it’s not unheard of for other players to experience similar success. One player mentioned encountering a Shiny Chansey and trying to catch it, only for their phone to die immediately after throwing the ball. They were ecstatic to later charge their phone and discover that the Chansey had been successfully captured. There’s plenty of similar stories of Pokemon GO players catching rare Pokemon under unusual circumstances. Some players definitely seem luckier than others, though, with some still not having ever seen a Shiny Galarian Legendary bird in their games despite regularly using their Daily Adventure Incense.
