One such quest you will come across during your journey through the campaign is the Mushroom Quest of Act 3. If you’re confused about how to proceed with this quest or simply unsure how to find it, this guide will help you through all the necessary steps.
How To Start The Mushroom Quest
The Mushroom Quest can be found in the Apex of Filth region in Act 3 of the game; this is one of the final areas that you will reach in the early access of the campaign. Your first step is to make your way to the Ziggurat Encampment, the primary hub in Act 3.
Once you reach there, you’ll have to go through the campaign until you obtain an item called the 
Large Soul Core
. This item is dropped after defeating the boss Zicoatl, Warden of the Core.
Use the Large Soul Core
on the stone altar at the Infested Barrens, and you’ll reach an area called the Matlan Waterways.
Proceed through the Matlan Waterways and lower the water in the surrounding areas of Act 3. Once the water level is down, a new area called The Drowned City will open. Proceed through The Drowned City and reach the Apex of Filth. The Mushroom Quest can be found in that exact area.
Mushroom Quest Guide
Once you enter Apex of Filth, start exploring the area. Eventually, you will come across a random item on the ground which could either be a 
Green Mushroom
, 
Blue Mushroom
, or 
Red Mushroom
. The first colour you find will vary at random.
However, once you pick up the Mushroom, the description will call it a Quest Item, with no clear directions on where to proceed. Keep the item in your inventory for the time being, and continue exploring the Apex of Filth.
If the first mushroom you pick up is Red, the second and third ones will be Green and Blue. You will never find two Mushrooms of the same colour in the area.
As you go through the area you will find the other two colours of Mushroom. Keep all three Mushrooms in your inventory and look for the Cauldron Keeper.
This Cauldron Keeper is usually located towards the very north of the Apex of Filth, and she will sit behind a huge Cauldron placed over a fire. Once you have the three Mushrooms, go to the Cauldron Keeper and burn them in the Cauldron.
You don’t have to do anything extra to burn the Mushrooms. Simply proceed to the Cauldron once you have all three of them and interact with it. You’ll notice that the flame underneath the Cauldron will burn brightly, and the items will disappear from your inventory. However, make sure to have all three of them at once, or otherwise the quest may not work.
Doing this will complete the quest and reward you with a Superior Gargantuan Life Flask and a Superior Gargantuan Mana Flask. These can be extremely good, but since the stats are random, there’s no guarantee. However, if you haven’t upgraded your flasks yet, this will help you get that done.
