Even though we’re still in that awkward period between Christmas and New Year’s, some people will have already started looking ahead to what’s next. Not only will there almost certainly already be a section dedicated to Easter chocolate at your local supermarket, but Sanrio has already begun preparations for Valentine’s Day, releasing three new Squishmallow designs featuring Hello Kitty and the gang.
Sanrio shone a brighter spotlight than usual on Hello Kitty in 2024 since it marked 50 years since the mascot was first introduced to the world. That doesn’t mean the cat will be ignored in 2025 though, of course, and even before this year has ended, Sanrio has already revealed what will likely be the first bit of Hello Kitty merch.

The newest Sanrio Squishmallows have popped up at Walmart and all three of them are available to buy right now. Hello Kitty leads the way with a plush designed to make it look like the cat is wearing a heart-printed outfit, her look capped off with her signature bow. Cinnamoroll and My Melody are the other characters from the Sanrio roster selected for Squishmallow duty this Valentine’s Day, the two of them wearing similar garb to their feline leader.

Cinnamoroll and My Melody have matching Squishmallow outfits and pink accessories in keeping with the holiday they’ve been created to celebrate. Cinnamoroll has a small pink hat perched on its head, and My Melody’s headwear is the same shade of pink with a red ribbon tied around it.

Hello Kitty Valentine’s Day Squishmallow
Hello Kitty is so synonymous with hearts and the colors red and pink that Valentine’s Day is kind of unofficially the Sanrio mascot’s holiday. Transforming the character into a love-themed Squishmallow doesn’t take much at all, and this plush puts the cartoon cat in a new outfit covered in hearts for Valentine’s Day 2025.

My Melody Valentine’s Day Squishmallow
Sanrio is back with new Valentine’s Day Squishmallows for 2025, and My Melody is a part of the collection. Hello Kitty’s rabbit buddy is wearing a Squishmallow outfit covered in hearts and her hat is baby pink with a red ribbon tied around it.
If you like the idea of picking up a Squishmallow as a Valentine’s gift, whether it be for a loved one or just something for yourself, but Sanrio’s colorful cast of characters don’t appeal to you, Walmart also already has Disney’s Stitch Valentine’s Day Squishmallows up on its site. A Stitch Squishmallow covered in kisses and an Angel plush holding a love letter are both available and are $12.98 each, as are all of the Sanrio Squishmallows.
Circling back to 50 years of Hello Kitty, Sanrio released a special edition Squishmallow earlier this year to celebrate the occasion. It felt like the product might be limited edition, particularly after Sanrio opened pre-orders for the plush before it was released, but months later, the Squishmallow is still available to buy. If you thought you’d missed out, you haven’t, and it’s still in stock for its regular price on Amazon.
