Helldivers 2 Players Are Making Good Use of the New Kick Emote

Summary

  • Helldivers 2 players love using the new emote, Spartan kick-style, for epic moments.
  • Some used it to cause chaos with their teammates, while others were able to save them from certain doom.
  • The kick was added to the Urban Legends Warbond, which also included the SQC-19 Stun Lance and SH-51 Directional Shield.

Helldivers 2 players are finding all sorts of useful and hilarious ways to use the new Spartan kick-style emote from the Urban Legends Warbond. It’s been a strong month for Helldivers 2 as the game launched its latest free update called Omens of Tyranny, finally adding the long-rumored Illuminate faction to the game, as well as some more urban-style maps as well.

Alongside the free Omens of Tyranny update for Helldivers 2, the latest Warbond was also added to the game. While unlocked with premium currency, the Urban Legends Warbond adds a melee weapon for the secondary slot called the SQC-19 Stun Lance. When paired with the SH-51 Directional Shield, players are able to hold enemies at bay, as teammates call in new stratagems like a Flame Sentry or armed Resupply pods. However, the new emote seems to have already become a fan favorite.

Helldivers 2’s Latest Warbond Booster is a Must-Have

Helldivers 2’s Urban Legends Booster is hopefully a bright sign of beautiful quality-of-life improvements as resupply pods can now come armed.

Considering that Helldivers 2‘s Urban Legends Warbond takes inspiration from ancient Sparta and moves like 300, it naturally has a big kick emote. Players have been making good use of the kick to pull off some wild stunts or impressive gameplay moments, including one player who was able to kick the head right off of an Automaton trooper. Another player wanted to cause a bit of chaos, timing their kick perfectly as they launched their teammate into a supply pod to get launched into the air just as it popped up, only for fall damage to finish them off.

Helldivers 2 Players Kicking Teammates to Safety

In addition to making impressive and meme-worthy plays with the Kick, there have been some impressive saves made with it as well. One in particular even caught the attention of Arrowhead Game Studios’ CCO, Johan Pilestedt. On social media, one Helldiver 2 player used the kick emote to push a teammate out of the way of a charger, who missed the strike by a second. The last second save was called out by Pilestedt, who mentioned that it was one of the coolest saves so far and called for more clips to be sent in.

Alongside all of this new content, Helldivers 2 kicked off a new collaboration with the Killzone franchise, bringing iconic Helghan armor and gear into the game. After a bit of controversy over pricing and a sense of “FOMO” from the community, Arrowhead Game Studios gifted players with the second wave of gear for free. On top of that, Helldivers 2 also made the StA-X3 W.A.S.P. stratagem free for all players, a launcher originally seen in Killzone 3 and is capable of firing seven homing missiles in a burst mode.
