2025 Is Already Stacked With Big Titles

By now, every gamer with even a small bit of industry awareness knows that 2025 is already stacked with highly anticipated titles, especially the next few months. February 2025 alone is one of the biggest months in gaming in a long time, with titles like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Civilization 7, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Avowed, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, Monster Hunter Wilds, and more all slated to launch that month. Given how crowded February 2025 is, it wouldn’t be surprising if any of those games were either moved up or delayed, just to avoid being overshadowed. However, delays are often met with backlash unless they have good reason.

The games launching in February 2025 aren’t the only big titles on the docket either, as the rest of the year holds the potential for some incredibly anticipated titles as well. Firstly, there’s Grand Theft Auto 6, which has taken so long to release it has become a meme at this point. Fortunately, Take-Two’s Q4 2024 earnings report seems to have narrowed down GTA 6‘s release window to fall 2025, but fans should still temper their expectations. Additionally, FromSoftware’s recently-revealed Elden Ring: Nightreign is slated for a 2025 release, as well as Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei, Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 4, and Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds 2.

GreedFall 2’s 1.0 Release Date Will Likely Avoid a Lot of Competition

With such a busy year for gaming in 2025, it’s fortunate that GreedFall 2: The Dying World is currently in early access and only just launched, as that may be enough to allow it to evade all the competition coming up. It’s almost certain that GreedFall 2‘s 1.0 update won’t be released in the next few months, especially given the current state of the game. When GreedFall 2 entered early access just recently, it was expected to already be in a better state than its predecessor, despite not technically being finished. However, fans and critics alike have expressed their disappointment with where the game is at, though there is still hope for it to improve over time.

In addition to the room GreedFall 2 still has for improvement, most early access games don’t reach their full release until at least an entire year has passed. Since GreedFall 2‘s early access launched in September 2024, that means it’s best to expect it to remain in early access until at least September 2025, though Spiders may surprise. While that seems like a long time from now, the length between GreedFall 2‘s early access launch and its potential full release date kills two birds with one stone — giving the game more time to grow and avoiding a year crowded with big games.
