Favourite Mobile Game of 2024: Zenless Zone Zero

My favourite mobile game of 2024 is Zenless Zone Zero. The game didn’t have the best start, but it quickly improved and has been running consistently since. The updates have made the game better, adding new content and features that keep things fresh. As a fan of Hoyoverse, I enjoy the characters they’ve created. Each character has a unique personality and fighting style, making it fun to learn and experiment with them.

The combat is one of the best parts. It’s so satisfying to pull off combos and counter-attacks, and the feeling of a well-executed move is unmatched. The fluid combat system makes battles more engaging, and it’s easy to get lost in the action. The game’s futuristic world is visually stunning, and it adds to the overall experience. Overall, Zenless Zone Zero has been a great ride, and it’s one I’ll keep playing throughout the year.

Favourite Mobile Game of 2024: Archero 2

As someone who has played various competitive games for years, especially the popular MOBA, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, I decided to take a break from that side this year and tried a few exciting casual games. But the one, I enjoyed the most was Archero 2, the sequel to the popular hybrid casual game, Archero. I enjoyed its roguelike challenges, including 50 main chapters and numerous other challenges and game modes.

The game is easy with the first few chapters but it quickly gets more challenging with various boss battles. With its improved visuals, adorable characters, smooth user interface, simple controls, and a ton of other content, the game provides a fun and exciting gameplay experience, perfect to play during breaks.

Favourite Mobile Game of 2024: Pokémon TCG Pocket

In 2024, we witnessed many impressive mobile titles making their debut. I tried to play as many as possible from those games, but the one that truly caught my attention was Pokémon TCG Pocket. Being an ardent Pokémon fan since childhood, this game reminded me of the days when I used to collect physical Pokémon cards with friends.

The exciting card art and the overall user interface are very attractive. The easy-to-learn aspect of Pokémon TCG Pocket also makes it highly appealing to new audiences. With so many positive features, it has undoubtedly earned a spot at the top of my favourites list for 2024.

With so many game genres releasing this year, the one that stood out the most for me, as a female player, is the hit otome game Love & Deepspace. Its stunning 3D models, first-person interactive mechanics, rich character lore, and thrilling boss battles come together to create an incredibly immersive and enjoyable game.

Favourite Mobile Game of 2024: Honor of Kings

Honor of Kings is easily my favourite game of 2024. The way it blends strategy, culture, and innovation is on a whole other level. The gameplay is so engaging, and with frequent updates, it always feels fresh and exciting. As someone who loves MOBA games, I’m hooked on the unique features HOK brings to the table. It’s immersive, fun, and just has that spark that keeps me coming back for more.

Favorite Mobile Game of 2024: FC Empires

2024 was a year of hits and misses for me as a mobile gamer with a knack for playing football mobile games. Being a hardcore soccer fan and mobile gamer, I am on the hunt each year for looking at the best marriage between these two, and this year didn’t disappoint as well.

There weren’t many significant releases in the soccer simulation genre with FC Mobile, eFootball, and DLS getting their regular season updates, so I was eagerly looking at what the management titles brought. Honestly, I was disappointed to see Soccer Manager 2025 failing to make any significant mark and Football Manager 25 getting a launch delay. However, towards the end of 2024, EA’s FC Empires came out and it was a game-changer for me.

FC Empires possesses all the necessary elements of a soccer management sim along with the official licenses of the clubs as well, i.e. you get to play with real players against real teams. You can build your facilities, watch your team go from strengths to strengths, and grow your fanbase. Little details like the opponent team bus arriving at your stadium before adding more to the matchday excitement. Although it’s not all perfect with plenty of scope for improvements, I genuinely believe FC Empires can slowly replicate the old FIFA Manager series lost in time.

Favourite Mobile Game of 2024: Fall Guys

There’s something magical about co-op games that bring people together for endless fun. Party games? Oh, those are my absolute favourites. Among all the titles I tried and tested this year, Fall Guys easily takes the crown as my favourite game of 2024. I first experienced the chaos of Fall Guys on PC, and it was a blast. But once the game finally landed on mobile, it became a whole new level of excitement, because it wasn’t just me playing it.

Suddenly, my entire friend group jumped on board, and every session turned into a laughter-filled competition of jumping, dodging, and falling in the most spectacularly ridiculous ways. The blame game is hilarious when someone loses the team a chance to qualify. The game’s charm lies in its simplicity, anyone can pick it up and play. Yes, these repetitive maps pop up, yet every round feels like a rollercoaster of unpredictable fun. As I write this, my Discord has already popped up a message ‘party is on!’.

2024 was a year of mixed emotions for me as a mobile gamer. While I discovered a few standout titles one game that truly stood out for me was Honor of Kings.

As a hardcore mobile MOBA enthusiast, I was blown away by the game’s production quality. From its visually stunning graphics to its smooth gameplay mechanics, Honor of Kings felt very polished. It’s no surprise that the game has consistently topped the revenue charts in China for years.

For me, Honor of Kings delivered what many other games couldn’t: a truly engaging and competitive experience that feels rewarding for players who invest time mastering it. While Arena of Valor struggled to replicate Honor of Kings’ massive e success outside China, I genuinely hope this title manages to break through and achieve global acclaim.
