Arcane was undoubtedly a global success, smashing Netflix viewership records as its highest-rated series within a week of its premiere and garnering widespread critical acclaim. With Arcane Season 2 marking the show’s final season, some Fortnite players had hoped that the League of Legends-inspired skins would return to the Item Shop as a tribute. Unfortunately, as of the latest Fortnite shop update, the Arcane Jinx and Vi skins have yet to appear.
While some believed Fortnite would eventually bring back the Arcane skins, recent news has cast doubt on this possibility. Given how popular Arcane has become and how well the initial skins were received in 2021 and 2022, it seems like an obvious opportunity to appeal to fans of both. Unfortunately, an update from a Riot Games official has seemingly left the collaboration skins in a challenging situation.

Fortnite and Riot Games Potentially in Talks Over Arcane Skins
The Return of Fortnite’s Arcane Skins Will Be No Easy Feat
Neither Riot Games nor Epic Games indicated that the Arcane skins would return alongside the end of Arcane Season 2, though this didn’t stop fans from hoping. The situation took a less optimistic turn when notable Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR shared on X (formerly Twitter) that a Co-Founder of Riot Games was asked about the possibility of the Arcane skins returning. The response was, “We only did it for the original launch of Arcane,” which led to several people expressing their dismay on the X post, which has now garnered over 6 million views.
In a strange twist of fate, this viral post caught the attention of the same Riot Games official, who revealed that the company was not aware of how many people were hoping to see the skins make a comeback. They commented that they would talk about the idea with the team, but there was no guarantee that anything would come of it. As such, while Fortnite may never bring back its Arcane collaboration, there is still hope.
Arcane and Fortnite Fans Should Remain Cautiously Optimistic
Given that the Arcane skins didn’t return in 2024 for reasons on Riot Games’ side, it seems Epic Games would be excited about the idea if its partner was willing. Despite the various bells and whistles necessary to pull off a successful collaboration, Fortnite generated over $9 billion in its first two full years since launch, with this number likely continuing to grow over the past seven years. Crossover and themed events increased Fortnite’s monthly revenue by about 23%, according to Exploding Topics.
With Riot Games and Epic Games officials reportedly discussing the return of the Arcane Jinx and Vi bundles, there may even be potential for fresh skins. It’s unclear whether Riot Games hadn’t considered bringing back the Arcane skins or if there was another reason. Still, now that it’s aware of their popularity, it could open the door for more Arcane cosmetics in Fortnite. Skins for protagonists like Jayce, Ekko, Caitlyn, Mel, Heimerdinger, and Viktor would likely be well-received. However, since there’s no guarantee that Jinx or Vi will return, the hopes of new League of Legends-inspired skins may never be realized.
