Avengers: Doomsday is set to have a huge cast, and that should feature a forgotten MCU star.
According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday. It’s unclear what capacity he will be involved in, but it was revealed that the role is only expected to be a small one. Whether this comes in the form of the masked Daredevil character of the more sophisticated lawyer, Matt Murdock remains to be seen. However, adding him to the movie will only increase the star power of what is expected to be a stacked cast.
Cox has already played the character for three seasons in Netflix’s Daredevil and The Defenders, although they were not part of the MCU. He officially entered that world by appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home and again in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Echo. However, 2025 is going to be the year Daredevil truly breaks out in the MCU when Daredevil: Born Again launches on Disney Plus.
The upcoming MCU television series is expected to provide plenty of details about what this version of the character will be like giving crucial background information so that people can connect with him and he can be linked to the wider MCU story. Whether the show will have a direct correlation to Avengers: Doomsday remains to be seen, but ifa he’s set to be involved in the upcoming Marvel film, then it’s likely that some seeds will be planted, as that’s what Marvel Studios tends to do.
Daredevil is going to have a much bigger role in the MCU moving forward, and if handled right, the character can have a lot of success. The popularity of Netflix’s show proved that Daredevil is someone that audiences care about if the story is right and he’s allowed to shine, and now Marvel Studios is getting their opportunity to do just that. While he might not be seen at the same level as the likes of Thor, Hulk, or Spider-Man just yet, the only way to get the character to reach that point is to have him involved in major movies such as this. Plus, it will benefit Avengers: Doomsday because having Daredevil involved will create new character interactions, which should be exciting to see.
