Best Marshadow Deck In Pokemon TCG Pocket, Explained
In Pokemon TCG Pocket, many meta decks and ace Pokemon combinations can be frustrating to go up against. Luckily, there is now somewhat of an anti-meta deck that has been emerging, featuring Marshadow from the new Mythical Island set, as well as several other Fighting Type Pokemon. While none may be overbearingly strong on their own, when incorporated into the same deck build, each Pokemon plays an important role in covering and shutting down targeted opponents and capitalizing on smart decisions to take down your opponents as efficiently and quickly as possible.
Marshadow plays exceptionally well as a reversal card from your bench, due to its Revenge move, which deals damage increased to 100 if your opponent knocks out one of your Pokemon using damage in the previous turn. This can be used cleverly to keep certain meta threats such as Pikachu ex in line, coming in to hit them hard. Mankey and Primeape are nice secondary additions, as the newer Mythical Island Mankey card is capable of an all-or-nothing coin flip attack dealing 50 damage on success. This makes Mankey capable of dealing with a common meta pick, Druddigon, as you will either hit the successful 50 to take a big chunk of Druddigon’s HP or miss, but not receive incoming damage from Druddigon’s Rough Skin Ability. Evolving to Primeape in the following turn will enable you to KO it in the following turn if you hit your successful coin flip, too, making this a decent way to adapt and counter this foe.
To support Mankey/Primape, Hitmonlee is also a great addition, as this card can target the opponent’s Bench and potentially disrupt strategy through the use of the Stretch Kick attack, which costs just 1 Energy and deals 30 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon. Lastly, Aerodactyl ex provides you with a Pokemon who has a slight increase in HP as well as the ability to disrupt certain key evolutions with the Primeval Law ability, which stops the opponent from playing a Pokemon from their hand to evolve their Active Pokemon. This means that they will either need to hold off from evolving until they manage to KO Aerodactly ex or consume resources in getting their Active Pokemon to retreat, fill the bench, evolve, and then potentially get back into the Active spot if necessary.
