Colorless Pokemon are some of the best cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket. They don’t alight to any one type, making them perfect for splashing into any deck that wants an additional typing in their deck without messing with your Energy Zone. The Mythical Island set includes some of the most versatile Colorless Pokemon, with some that can hit for massive damage if you get lucky.

You’ll want to get your hands on plenty of these cards, the best to come out of Pokemon Pocket’s Mystical Island expansion.
Then there are others that let you swap out your dead hand for an even better one. While there aren’t as many Colorless Pokemon in Mythical Island, each one is a solid option to add to your deck. Now it’s just a matter of ranking them.

Pidgey
The Path To Pidgeot Ex
Every good Evolution line starts with a weak Basic Pokemon that you want to protect at all costs. Pidgey is a bit flimsy as far as Basic Pokemon go, with only 50 HP. However, it has a Retreat Cost of one, allowing it to switch out easily if necessary.
For one Energy, you can use Flap to deal 20 damage, which allows it to get into action quickly if it finds itself on the Active Spot. Just make sure it doesn’t get hit by any Electric Pokemon, or it will get knocked out quickly. Pidgey may be a small Pokemon, but it can grow into a powerful asset in any Pokemon battle. You just need to keep it safe as it Evolves through its Stages.

Pidgeotto
Slow But Worthwhile
Once your Pidgey Evolves into Pidgeotto, it faces a problem that plagues some of the other three Stage Pokemon. This is because the Energy costs go from one to three if Pidgeotto wants to attack. The Move it can use is Wing Attack, which causes 50 damage. This is pretty expensive for the amount of damage that it does, but once you can pay for Pideotto’s attack, you won’t need to attach any more Energy to it going forward.

Ex Pokemon are some of the strongest in Pokemon Pocket, and these cards from Mythical Island are all quite good.
Additionally, Pidgeotto retains its Retreat Cost throughout all of its Stages. This makes it a simple Pokemon to switch out using an Item like X Speed. This helps as a way to stall out a match by preventing your opponent from collecting points, or you simply need Pidgeotto out of the way for another Pokemon to take its place on the Active Spot.

Pidgeot Ex
A Menace Against A Full Bench
Pidgeot ex is the inverse of Pikachu ex. It isn’t a Basic Pokemon, so it needs to Evolve before it can do any major damage. Instead of getting buffs based on its own Bench, it gains buffs based on your opponent’s Bench. With 170 HP and a cheap Retreat Cost of one, this Pokemon can take its fair share of hits while getting out of the way quickly before your opponent manages to score a point.
For three Energy, Pidgeot ex can use Scattering Cyclone, which has a base damage of 80 with an additional 20 damage for each Pokemon on your opponent’s Bench. This means a Scattering Cyclone has the potential to hit for 140 damage. This manages to eclipse many powerful Pokemon, especially when their decks like having other Pokemon on the Bench for support. This forces your opponent to think carefully before slapping more Pokemon in the back row.
3
Tauros
Ex Pokemon Beware
If you want a Basic Pokemon that can put the squeeze on some of your opponent’s most powerful ex Pokemon, then Tauros is ready to the job. It has an HP of 100 and a Retreat Cost of two. Meanwhile, Fighting Tackle takes three Energy to turn on. However, once Tauros is loaded with Energy, it becomes an ex Pokemon’s worst nightmare.

Do you want to show off some of your cards? Flair is an excellent way to do that, and this list will go over the best options.
Fighting Tackle will normally do 40 damage. However, it becomes a 120 damage Move if it is used against an ex Pokemon. This makes it yet another Pokemon that can topple Pikachu ex in one hit. This Pokemon can also leave Starmie ex or Celebi ex in the dust with the help of Giovanni. When Tauros sees an ex Pokemon, it gets mad, which is good for you and bad for your opponent.
2
Chatot
Get A Brand New Hand
Chatot is a surprisingly strong Pokemon that gives Meowth a run for its money. With 60 HP and a Retreat Cost of one, it goes toe-to-toe with Meowth in terms of stats. However, it has a much stronger draw Move called Mimic. This Move costs one Energy but lets you place your hand back into the deck to draw the same number of cards your opponent has in their hand.
This is incredibly powerful since it turns a dead hand into a playable one for the next turn. It also increases your chances of drawing into Evolutions, and you need to get your board to full power. You also don’t need a minimum of cards in your hand. So, if your opponent has three cards in their hand, you can play Chatot, then empty your hand by playing cards. Then, you can finish the turn by using Mimic, which now lets you draw three fresh cards since you have nothing to put back in the deck.
1
Eevee
An Incredibly Strong Coin Flip Card
Eevee may look weak, but it is the perfect storm of luck, statistics, and Evolution potential. This is because Eevee can go into any of its elemental Evolutions, giving it a space in any deck that utilizes them. However, it’s most useful trait is that it can potentially defeat any ex Pokemon for only one Energy. All you need is a bit of luck.
Continuous Steps has no base damage. Instead, it acts the same as Lickitung’s coin flip Move, where the damage only stops after you hit tails. Eevee does this at a fraction of the cost but also only 20 damage for each heads. Don’t let this low-damage output fool you. 20 damage can become 40 quite easily, then 60 and even 80. This luck-based strategy can be quite devastating during the early game when your opponent’s Basic Pokemon are just three coin flips away from getting knocked out.
