4 New Heroes are launched

Heroes are the core of Mobile Legends, and 2024 brought exciting new releases and impactful revamps to existing heroes. While fewer heroes were released compared to previous years, their impact on the meta was significant. Additionally, hero revamps transformed underused heroes into popular picks, revitalizing their presence in matches. The released heroes and revamps for the year 2024 are highlighted below:

• Chip: Tank/Support role hero, Chip excels at utilizing portals to efficiently rotate between lanes for ganks, while also acting as a strong counter to split-push strategies.
• Zhuxin: Mage role hero, Zhuxin is a powerful hero capable of disrupting enemy lineups in teamfights whenever she triggers her passive ability which allows her to Knock enemies Airborne.
• Suyou: Assassin role hero, Suyou, is a highly versatile hero with abilities that allow him to engage and disengage easily. Just like Julian, Suyou is fit for early engagement and quick skirmishes right from Level 3, making him a menace for squishy enemies.
• Lukas: Lukas is a powerful Fighter role hero especially when he uses his transformative ultimate ability. Coupled with his other disruptive skills, Lukas is easily a high-tier hero on the battlefield.

4 Heroes got revamp

• Revamped Aurora: After her visual and skill revamp on January 31st, 2024, Aurora has become an even more powerful mage, as she can now freeze enemies more efficiently than before.
• Revamped Helcurt: Assassin hero, Helcurt received a visual and ability revamp that opened more roles for Helcurt to be used in, as he can now be used as a damage Roam hero that will burst down squishy enemies easily.
• Revamped Phoveus: Phoveus’s revamp introduced a 0-cooldown ultimate, making it easier to trigger, alongside skill adjustments that solidified his role as a durable, teamfight-focused frontline fighter.
• Revamped Granger: Granger’s revamp shifted his focus to a marksman role with spammable skills and low cooldowns, making him a formidable and frustrating opponent in the laning phase.

Project Next Update 2024 delivered as expected

2024’s Project NEXT Update was a game-changer, delivering significant enhancements that elevated the overall player experience. 2024’s Project Next update focused more on increasing players’ gameplay experience and balance by bringing about:

• Equipment Reworks: New equipment like Malefic Gun and Sky Piercer were added, revamping and adjusting some existing items.
• New Game Modes: 2024’s Project Next update bright about a new tournament mode, Rising Open which replaced the MCL in the month of December 2024. This new tourney mode has more flexible participation rules while showcasing rewards of up to 50,000 diamonds as the grand prize.

MLBB brought in new and returning Collaboration events

Collab events have become a defining feature of MLBB, and 2024 delivered some of the best partnerships yet. These crossovers kept the game fresh and offered players exclusive content to enjoy. Some of the new Collab events that debuted in the year 2024 are outlined below:

• MLBB X Attack On Titans Collab (new): This collaboration event showcases some select MLBB heroes as some of our beloved Attack On Titans characters. Yin, Martis, and Fanny are the lucky heroes with skins from this collab, featuring awesome skill effects and immersive visuals.
• MLBB X KOF Collab (returning): 2024 started with the MLBB KOF collab releasing and returning 6 of the KOF skins for Karina, Gusion, Chou, Dyrroth, Guinevere, and Aurora. Later on in Spring 2024, the 3rd phase of the MLBB and King Of Fighters characters collaboration event debuted bringing new intriguing skins. It showcased 3 new skins with super-flashy effects for Valir, Paquito, and Masha.
• MLBB X Ducati Collab (returning): This Ducati collab skin series which was first released in 2023, returned in the year 2024 to bring about a new skin for fighter role hero, Leomord.
• MLBB X Star Wars Collab (returning): The MLBB X Star Wars Collab skins event returned in September 2024 and was strictly a region-exclusive collab event this time. It returned the 4 exclusive collab skins for Cyclops, Alucard, Kimmy, and Argus. Each hero represented fan-favorite Star Wars characters like Darth Vader, Master Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
• MLBB X Jujutsu Kaisen Collab (returning): After first releasing in June 2023, MLBB x Jujutsu Kaisen collab returned in June 2024 with Yin’s Yuji Itadori skin getting an ultimate redesign. It also returned the three other collab skins for Xavier, Meliisa, and Julian.

Exclusive Skin series continues to surprise fans

As we review the year 2024 for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang we can see the release of some new exclusive skin series:

• Aspirants Skins series: Year 2024 was an amazing year for Aspirants fans as we witnessed Chang’e and Lesley getting an Aspirants skin. Later on in, August 2024 the skin series returned with the full Aspirants skins being available for grabs.
• Exorcist Skins series: The Exorcists returned in May 2024 with the highly-anticipated new skins for Granger and Hayabusa. It also brought back previous exorcist skins for Yu Zhong and Kagura
• Soul Vessels skins series: The year 2024 witnessed the debut of the Soul Vessels skins series in MLBB. It featured exquisite skins for Aamon and Hanabi showcasing them as Vessels for powerful Beasts.
• Allstar and Sparkle skins: The annual 515 event introduced new exciting skins in the year 2024. It showcased the release of a new Allstar-themed skin series titled Sparkle Skins, which introduced exciting skins for Esmeralda, Melissa, Estes, and Fredrinn. Later on, 2024’s Allstar skin for Moskov was released, introducing new skin feats and solidifying it as one of the best skins in the game.

The year 2024 also showcased never-before-seen free skin events in the world of MLBB. The most notable of them all was during MOONTON’s 10th Anniversary event. The anniversary event featured a free skin giveaway, offering Natalia’s “Warrioress Paragon” Collector skin completely for free. Later on in September 2024, Mobile Legends 8th Anniversary event introduced a free Akai epic-tier skin as its main highlight.

In addition to notable skin events, Mobile Legends hosted numerous free Epic skin giveaways, rewarding players for their dedication and time.

MLBB M6 World Championship Grand Finals Reveals New Branding

MLBB esports reached new heights this year, solidifying its place as one of the most-watched mobile esports globally. One of the most intriguing Esports events to be held in 2024, was the M6 World Championship. The M6 World Championship ran from November 21 to December 15, 2024, with Fnatic Onic PH crowned as champions. On the finals day, MOONTON Games also revealed a new logo for MLBB. We were lucky to be present at the venue to experience the grand event!

Excitement awaits at the Land of Dawn in 2025

Looking back on 2024, MLBB evolved with fresh challenges and excitement for its dedicated fanbase.
