Sega has teamed up with Jazwares again to turn Sonic and some of his closest friends into more Squishmallows. There are already quite a few Sonic Squishmallows, but none of them are quite like these. The latest batch has turned some of the series’ lead characters into ice creams, and best of all, they smell as good as they look.
That’s right, Sonic’s new Squishmallows are scented and they’re available now. Well, the listing is live at Hot Topic via the link in the box below, although it seems availability will be dictated by stock at your nearest stores. Now for the downside – there are six of them to collect, but you can’t choose which one you buy.

Sonic’s ice cream-scented mini Squishmallows are being sold via blind boxes and have been creatively dubbed the Mystery Squad. There’s no way of knowing which of the six designs is inside until you open the pack. Once opened you’ll be greeted by an ice cream version of either Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Rouge, Shadow, or Amy.

What A Colorful Bunch
As for what each of the Squishmallows smells like, that hasn’t been revealed. There’s an ice cream Cinnamoroll backpack that smells like vanilla, and I’m assuming all of the Sonic Squishmallows will smell pretty similar. Each character is a different flavor though so there’s a chance they all have their own unique scent. If that’s the case, maybe those of you who want the Shadow design can go to your local Hot Topic and keep smelling packs until you find one with a faint whiff of chocolate.
The scented Sonic Squishmallows are quite a bit smaller than the regular versions of the plush at just 5.5 inches tall. On the bright side, that means they’re quite a bit cheaper. In fact, they’re even cheaper than usual if you do manage to find them in stock at a nearby Hot Topic as an additional $3 has been knocked off their price, bringing the cost down to less than $13 each.

Six of Sonic’s best-known characters have been turned into ice cream Squishmallows. Not only do they look like ice creams, but they smell like them too. The mini Squishmallows are sold in mystery packs which means you won’t know which one you’ve got until you open it.
Good news if you plan on trying to collect all six, but even at a discount, that’s likely going to take buying a lot more than six. If my calculations are correct, the odds of getting all six in your first six packs is close to one in 50,000. Maybe find someone else collecting them are trade your duplicates. Or just keep buying them and fill your house with scented Sonic Squishmallows. Just imagine how good it’ll smell.
